Honestly, that would be a hilarious way of quitting a shit job in a bank or a supermarket, but in a sucessful lawfirm and with such nice and polite colleagues, just makes Jimmy look like a jackass, even more so because he's doing it to keep his bonus. It's understandable his urge to quit because he doesn't feel like he fits in - believe me, it's shit to work in a place in which you don't feel like you fit in or don't seem to get use to it - but to annoy everyone in order to get fired with a bonus pay it's pretty petty.

@@evanherb5900 I’d say Chuck dying being a good thing is definitely wrong. While yes, Chuck was a terrible person, his death prompted Jimmy to actually become the terrible person Chuck previously thought he would be. Chuck wasn’t right about how people don’t change, because ironically, the way he treated his brother was what played a major role in changing Jimmy into the person Chuck accused him of being. As much as it was bad to get fired by annoying decent people, it was pretty scummy to add a clause in the contract where not only would he have to pay all that money back by quitting, but if he stayed long enough there he would also have to pay that bonus back plus interest. That’s how these firms get you, just when you think you settled in they force you to be in debt and you’ll end up paying that forever before you even get anywhere in firm.
@miguelporras836625 күн бұрын
Jimmy fucked them right. Made them win a lot of money building the class action case, getting all the elders interested through a succesful ad and still put Erin to babysit him as an indirect dismissal to make him quit and deprive him of his bonus. That's how law firms truly work: a ponzi scheme. Dont get me wrong, he had to be punished for indiscipline (airing the ad on his own), but the overwhelming success of the ad, which made the case stronger, was a mitigating circumstance. Putting him a babysitter was not proportional to the misdemeanor

I do this employment law work in New Zealand and clients do things like this so they can be 'unjustifiably dismissed'. It happens all the time and the settlements for that is about $15k USD lump sum. If it goes to court and a judge rules in the employee's favour, that number is about $30-40k, despite the fact these clients all heavily contribute to such.

Jimmy has a lot of good qualities. He’s smart and hardworking and compassionate and dutiful to his brother and a supportive husband. But he’s also determined to break rules and ignore the businesses and institutions that he works under, even the ones that treat him decently. Sometimes, you root for him because he’s the little guy getting one over on the big guy. But no one can live like that, constantly deciding when it’s okay to lie and scam, and not eventually rot their own morals. So (spoiler) in the end, we have a guy who’s drugging cancer patients and robbing them while they’re passed out. Similar to Walt, in a way.

Meh, I'm on Jimmy's side. I mean, I understand Cliff's reasons but having an intern following you around, really annoying one, over a commercial is just insulting. They hired him because he found the case all by himself in his own way and now they don't even let him use his skills. Not to forget that shitty commercial they did for freaking senior citizens who can hardly hear you shouting to their ear let alone care for some monotone lawyer quickly reading over a script about some lawyer mambo jambo. How are you supposed to defend your client when you are being actively kept away from seeing them by the opposition? They were using dirty ways to get around so how are they supposed to win the lawsuit without getting dirty themselves? Unlike what Chuck believes, they don't have to pass over the line to be evil.

im going to point out his law degree isnt the only thing a law firm looks for when you get hired. Sometimes they will look at cases you worked on as a public defender. Infact jimmy got the job because of the class action suite. There was no nepatism involved. you only need to attend law school so you are eligable to take the bar exam the actual way you become a lawyer. Chuck had to take the same exam. Although the bar exam is personalized. Jimmy earned this job fair and square. Jimmy didnt appreciate it though. This isnt a justification but, jimmy's biggest motive to change is usually people in his life since he puts their lives above his. However, he progressivly lost that motivr because chuck was an asshole and kim deap down was more facinated than disgusted and it eventually revealed its ugly head. If this was season 1 jimmy he would of been more greatful. But post chuck he just finds it agonizing because he doesbt want to listen to somebody elses rules.
