I'm embarrassed to admit this, but this song literally brought tears to my eyes. Makes me wish I knew other musicians in my town to do stuff like this with. It's hard to find people out there that have a deep appreciation for finger-style, so playing with yourself seems the only option. Most of the people I've met that have guitars are either light-strummers, never heard of any of the guitarists I like, or don't really play at all. Such a bummer.

@mensamoo Hi Mensamoo. Not that it matters but the first guitar is in fact one guitar. The video is the acutal takes from the album recording. You are right though that all musicians can do this. It´s just the matter of practising and using the ring on you left thumb. It´s a lot less difficult than it sounds as most guitar compositions are. best regards and thanks for tuning in jimmy wahlsteen

Thanks so much Craig. It's really great to know you like the music The title for the song comes from a quote in a book named Shantaram. It refers to all the effort and hard work you need to put into any mission in life just to keep moving. It's hard enough just standing still.

@Rael0505 He only layered 'The Urge To Gossip' and only the horn section. I think there was one other song he used the loop station for, but for the most part, it was all in real time and just him. He won me over. I am now an avid fan (and he's a very approachable player to boot) \m/ \m/

@Rael0505 I'm not familiar with his songs to know what he took from the normal layered section. I do know he's a very very busy player. Some of his techniques were extremely technical, in the sense that he was in fact filling voids where most players couldn't.
@BryanrasonCa14 жыл бұрын
@junkrose he plays them a little different live but they still sound great......he is an amazing studio musician and a great guy to boot.......:)
