He is a proper petrol head down to earth guy who has a passion for motorsports and I that why him and Jimmy get on so well, they both has a passion for the sport and they both get the most plesure in sharing that passion. It is the best bromance in motor sport, if neither of them where in the postion they are now with the succces and optunities they have built for them selves, and instead just happen to buy tickets to club race at donnington and happen to end up stood at the same corner they would be cheering togather, every one would be pointing and saying "there are some real fan", and they would leave still talking, grinning and sharing there passion. They have have built their success, and optunities, but neither of them has lost the passion of being a young kid watching fast cars go past and living in that moment of joy.

There's something magical watching these historic race cars. A real man versus machine, little to no electronics or assistance. A real test of skill. Awesome job Jimmer!
@StarkRaven593 ай бұрын
Electronics only go so far. Modern engine/chassis/tire development means even a new Mustang with everything but the EFI stripped out would not be as skatey as this example. That's the big thing that makes these older cars unique.

The way Jimmy has added aggression and steel to his driving progressively, whilst always maintaining a 'bring the car home' level of control, is outstanding. It is what is making him a professional. So right..... All things considered. How about going full trousers for a season in the BTCC then? That series could do with a boost.
@raffriff423 ай бұрын
His driving style was honed in numerous virtual Le Mans 24H’s. But do you remember Jimmy’s early IRL laps? The cars always broke down for some reason. Gearboxes mostly. Doesn’t happen any more.

That overtake was something else mate, very impressive. Shoutout out to both you AND the other driver for your great spatial awareness and clean racing. It was a phenomenal, move but people shouldn't forget the minerals and race craft from both parties involved. But that was a world class move mate, holy heck.
@jcgabriel15693 ай бұрын
Well, that other driver he passed on the outside is John Spiers. He's not a pro, but he can really turn a wheel in anger. In that same Silverstone race meeting, he drove his old 1955 Maserati 250F in the historic pre-1965 Formula 1 race (where his car is easily one of the oldest in the grid), where, on the wet Saturday race, he fought faster, much later rear-engined Formula 1 cars to win overall!
@geoffygeoff93913 ай бұрын
@@jcgabriel1569 I didn't know any of that. Thanks for the great info. I'll try to remember the name in future. Pro or not, it looks and sounds like the guy is a great driver. It's actually cooler that he isn't a pro. Just a bloke with a passion tustling with, and beating pros. Big respect.

The overtake alone is something as the man he passed is John Spiers, who not bad at all in driving various cars... the same weekend he beat rear-engined early 1960s F1 cars in his much older, drum braked front-engined Maserati 250F!
