Just when I am looking for the dualtron ultra 2 review. I've watched some for a week but didn't get the informations I needed. And you two hit all I needed. I was grinning when I saw the notification. Because no one has done any thorough review of the ultra 2 yet. Probably a better replacement of my Nami Viper. Great video!
@Andrew-vt4jt2 жыл бұрын
It was fate! Glad you enjoyed the video and that our video can help you with your decision. If you get the Ultra 2 on top of your Nami, you will be able to have the best of both worlds. The range on the Ultra 2 is insane due to the massive battery and high-quality battery cells. If you use our link and coupon code in the description, you can get a free two year warranty on the Ultra 2.

I have the Ultra 2, just hit 1750 miles on it, bought it new 7 months ago. My only real complaint is that wobbly and creaking stem. I did upgrade the quick release clamp to a larger double clamp (66 brand), removed the bolts as u mentioned and used lithium Grease, and then instead of reinstalling the two original stainless bolts, I upgraded to grade 10 steel bolts which I was able to tork down more than the original bolts. After doing that, the creaking and wobble went away (I retighten every couple weeks or so, and re Grease every couple months). I also made my own trailer adapter that bolts where the seat would normally bolt, and it allows me to tow a kids bike trailer which my 6 year old LOVES riding in. We go on 20-30 mile adventures, on and off road, with her, tools, spare parts, ice chest and camp chairs in the trailer, and the scooter and battery have held up just fine. I also ride it in cold and rainy weather, so I sealed everything up with electrical putty and silicone. So far the scooter still looks factory and hasn't had any water related issues. Overall, GREAT quality scooter for fun as well as my daily commute. I'm a big guy (6' tall, 230 lbs) and i can definitely say this scooter is great for us larger guys looking for a high performance and reliable scooter.

I bought Ultra 2 recently, I already have a Nami and 2 other chinese scooters (6000W and 2400W) and I have to say- I fell in love with Ultra completely, and most of the time I jump on Ultra instead of Nami. From mu point of view, this is not an offroad scooter at all, its super stiff and I recommend to swap those “bricky” tyres for PMTs, than you just unleash its full potentional (also wider handlebars needed). I love the sound, its a pure beast! Not as fast in a straight line as Nami is, but its not just about max speed at the end of the day. Ultra 2 just keeps me entertained a lot more than Nami ever did.

I've always wanted a Dualtron but can't afford one so I ended up with a Laotie ES19. Living in SF I needed something with good power and the ES19 is rated at 6000W but I'm too chicken to put it in 3rd gear. Fastest I've gone in 2nd is 37 mph, rear motor only. Changed both shocks to oil dampened units which made a world of difference. Keep up the good work guys!

It doesn't have suspension cartridges like Thunder. The elastomers are fixed to the fork assembly, at least in the front. There are vendors that sell the front assemblies with softer elastomers, but otherwise you really have to do some work with a custom press to work in new elastomers to adjust the suspension. At its default settings the stiffness is designed for fast road riding, not offroad at all. Other things of note: - it doesn't have a single/dual switch, so low speed maneuvering is pretty jerky and painful - the stem is low as well as creaky, like on all Dualtrons, and the short collapsible handlebars are scary on such a monster scooter - it's not 40 kg, but at least 43 kg, if not more in that updated 40A version
@kurukururin2 жыл бұрын
some people have been drilling holes in the elastomers and loosening the swing arm bolts just a touch. it makes it alot softer. it seems to work, but i have not tried it. seems a bit sketchy and its always a risk. im almost 300 pounds and im never close to bottoming out my ultra 2 lol. its very stiff even for me. i can imagine a 150 pound person riding it hehe. its very stable at high speeds though! and thats good, cause its a speed monster :D ive had mine up to 63mph with tailwind and a very long straight... with a steering damper ofc. its pretty stable without, but at those speeds its nice to have the extra security. all new dualtrons lack the single / dual switch. its not needed imo. not even at starts or low speeds. theres a million ways to adjust the power and after a while you get used to the pull anyways. and it saves the controllers. stem is a bit low. im 180cm and i needed a small stem extender to feel 100% comfy, but it was alright without as well, in a pinch. For me it was wide enough, even at high speeds. The creaking is super easy to fix if someone really wants to. Still bad that it appears after a few weeks on all these dualtrons, but hey, some work is needed to get these perfect.

Not sure if in US is a different version, but in EU the Ultra 2 is so stiff that you really cannot call it offroad scooter, just because it has offroad tyres. It is just a pain to drive it offroad, it is very stiff, and you cannot easily change the front suspension. But with road tyres / it is super nimble/super range/power road scooter, but for offroading, I would not suggest to buy U2. in EU.

So I’m looking to upgrade to a more power scooter in the next coming months. Would this be your recommended upgrade from the varla Pegasus? I’m liking the 30mph of the Pegasus but feel like the travel distance is still kinda small since my area has hills galore. Plus going slightly faster (up to 40ish mph cause of some of my states laws) would be a nice change. I should also say I wouldn’t be needing to fold it since it would be just to work or shopping and back. Non of these areas are more than 1 story.
@rxonmymind83622 жыл бұрын
Take the power not for it stated x mph but measure a scooter based on the battery half life speed. I bought a Dualtron Eagle Pro for this reason. 45 at full battery and more than 27 mph at 50% battery. Plenty enough for me. Also the power helps going through thick grass(think parks when I run with my dogs) and sandy terrain. All that mixed with good distance. Then you have two reliable brick and mortar stores to service Dualtrons Voro L.A. & Mini motors in SF. All this makes any Dualtron a winner.
