I love house renovation shows and Diresta takes it to the next level. That stone stacking work is so satisfying to see completed! Truly someone that embodies Bruce Lee's quote: “Don't fear the man who knows 1,000 techniques. But fear the man that has practiced one technique 1,000 times.” But in his case I think he's practiced that one technique 10000 times at least!

One of the reasons I’m enjoying this series so much is because of Ken and his fantastic work on that gorgeous stacked stone foundation. I have never been so interested in a foundation before. Plus he’s a character, one of those guys with skill, personality, and a sense of humor.

So Fantastic - Love how you respect and trust the tradesmen and their work. It might not be a bad Idea to sister the joists on either side of your "access hatch" frames so that floor area doesn't sag or bounce (since it's in the middle like that.) Thanks as always for sharing Jimmy!

LOL you do know how to get anything done, an amazing and inspiring fellow you are Jimmy Diresta. My two cents is that my favorite videos are the ones where you are taking a lump of coal and turning it into a diamond. The barn, this house, your house, your workshopS, the go-cart racetrack... and anything like that... all restorations are my favorites. Thank you, I am in Sarasota Florida with a big old hurricane coming straight for us.

To be fair, both barns were new construction by competent builders and only finished to the degree Diresta directed. True he did/is doing what he does to tailor them to his needs... so maybe rough-cut diamonds on the barns, lol 😉

I once pulled a 3'x8' mirror off of a bathroom wall by using standard framing wedges, like you'd wedge a door with. I just put that sticky carpet masking stuff they use for walkways over the mirror (in case it broke) and then started putting the wedges in all around it. It was attached with Liquid Nails and I was trying to salvage the drywall behind it. Worked like a charm. I saved the drywall and sold the mirror for $250. And it only took around 20 minutes to pull it off.

Hi Jimmy. I love your videos, this series in particular. Just a bit of advice regarding your radiant floor heating; when you get the pipes laid, I'd suggest two things. 1. As you're laying the subfloor over the radiant tubing, draw the exact location of the tubing on the subfloor. This will prevent driving a flooring nail through the tube. 2. Install a pressure gauge on the radiant floor tube and pressurize the tubing with air. You may not hear it when you puncture the tubing, but if you check the pressure when you arrive to work on the house, and again before you leave, you'll at least have an idea of where the puncture might be based on what you worked on that day. Please keep up the great videos! Best regards, Jon
