ok, so at 5:30 this happened on AGT, they asked one of the judges, Sofia I believe, to shoot a crossbow, while blindfolded, at an apple or target that would be held by Simon Cowell. but they did a prank and set it as if Simon had been shot and he was laying on the ground with the crossbow bolt pierced into his chest, which they did as soon as Sofia was blindfolded. all she did was trigger the crossbow's firing action, because they also removed the bolt after she was blindfolded. so the crew and the audience reacted as if a tragedy happened.
