PLEASE! Do it! My aunt had hers, they ended up finding liver cancer. BUT was able to get it all! Avoided chemotherapy & radiation! Regular screening, beginning at age 45, is the key to preventing colorectal cancer and finding it early. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends that adults age 45 to 75 be screened for colorectal cancer. The Task Force recommends that adults age 76 to 85 ask their doctor if they should be screened.

I too suffer from atrociously loud and persistent hiccups. I've worked most of my life in cubicle land so it's always been a source of amusement/annoyance/curiosity for my coworkers, depending on their temperaments. My favorite response from one bespeckled meercat was to offer me $100 to hiccup ONE MORE TIME. I had been doing it for hours by the time he offered it and I did not, could not, make one more hiccup happen. I was more relived than I was bummed to miss out on the money though, they HURT.

The prep isn't that bad. A few Dulcolax early in the day, then Miralax in clear liquids in the afternoon. Yes you're on the toilet half the day, but it's not that big of a deal. I've had 2.

My theory about hiccups is its a leftover evolution nerve fail from waay back when eating involved less swallowing and what many animals still do. Since they can't swallow, they extend neck and throw head up and back to get food drop down the throat. I tried that motion a few times while swallowing when I got hiccups that wouldn't go away and it stopped immediately. Ya may look a little weird but seriously try it yourself.

I did it awake also. Years ago in my doctor's office. That was over 20 years ago. I was given "Go Lightly" to clean out my colon. Definitely misnamed. Go Lightly was about a gallon of clear liquid. I was told I had to drink it all. I did. Today they no longer give Go Lightly. I heard it is bad for the kidneys. The prep today is Mira lax while harsh it is so much better/easier than Go Lightly. I prefer the prep done today and being asleep. People today have no idea how much better they have it today. Everyone needs to have it done. No need to be concerned. Stay safe and stay healthy everyone!
