I work a lot as an extra in various shows and I can say that they all use old laugh tracks because they already have it stored and to make a new one they gotta pay people to use their voices in laughing. Some takes they will use the real audience if ain’t to loud and it somewhat matches the old prerecording. Also when recording and when something funny happens we are told to stay quiet and look like we are laughing, clapping and or celebrating.
