Many people still don't realize that most of these interviews are performances by these actors. They are playing a character crafted almost entirely by their agents, publicists, and handlers. Every now and then, one of them will step outside of that performance in public and people are taken aback by how awkward, strange, crazy, boring or excruciatingly normal they are.

i think it's a fortuitously intelligent step to take... a way to stall the craft without overpowering the engine, accept the perspective, wait to come back to orbit, if at all... i think david bowie, or hunter s thompson might be good parallels of establishing a persona that didn't just implode to a snivelling mess... you get that celluloid bubble of people around you and your sense of motivation can become delimited like richard pryor on fire or charlie sheen's episode... in living color, "alright then", over the top jim carrey deserves a slow exhale... that sort of antics-based comedy is such a long shot of lasting staying power, but once it does...... rambling i guess, just after robin williams, the spotlight has to feel overwhelmingly visceral for him... i know robin williams was really close to jonathon winters, but i always wanted to see him and jim express a public cohesion and affinity... sigh, fuckn rambling

Many people think this man is going nuts but honestly... He's not. Jim Carrey, from what i get, is just tired of this whole hollywood stuff.. He stood there with a face (as i said, from what i get.. ive seen other videos and he has the same facial expression towards the audience) of disbelief. He doesnt understand why those people treat him like a king, or a God. Everyone thinks he jokes when he speaks but he's telling the truth. 100% truth. He isnt Jim Carrey anymore. He gave that role up. That persona. The "person" that everyone wanted that gave him many opportunities is no more.

That's the consequence of going into the abyss of comedy and never expanding career paths. Jim had enough time to detach himself from comedies but couldn't stop himself in time. A few dramas aren't enough, he needed something more and it's too late.

I think the scariest thing is not knowing what is truly going on in someones head. Like many have pointed out, its always the funny people, the ones that love making others laugh that are the saddest on the inside. Robin Williams, i never wouldve seen that coming. Knowing Jims past history with depression, I along with everyone on here i believe can say that we wish you Jim, all the happiness in the world, along with all of lifes blessings. Truly deserves it, and he is a true legend.

I'd be shocked if he's actually read the work of a serious philosopher and understood it. He's just speaking like your typical dude who has read some 'Americanized' Eastern philosophical texts and self-help books and now speaks in vague terms of 'openness' and 'energy' etc. I bet if he was pressed to defend his position he'd begin contradicting himself. In fact, he's been coming on talk shows for several months talking about how he's "going away" and "getting out of show business." Well, Jim, if you are actually going away, just do it. You don't need to go on talk shows to tell us. It would be like me saying I'm moving to another country, but then coming back every few minutes to say it again.

I don't think he's suicidal. I think the look was initially a wow factor that they're applauding that much for him. Then the reality hit him, for what? For movies? For acting or playing a bit? He refers to that a few minutes into the interview too. He's just realized it wasn't him they applauded but what he did, he's finding himself now instead of relying on a script to give him life 😌💯

Seeing someone you grew up with on your TV and used to watch for hours say that he feels the same way you’ve felt before is oddly refreshing He is forever an Icon ❤

"Jim Carrey is a great character, and I was lucky to get the part" Am I the only one who get chills when I hear this. It looks like everything was staged, like his life was just an act.. He reminds me so much of Robin Williams.. A clown on the outside, but broken on the inside... I dunno.

BuffaloEsDeMax nah man, I have experienced the awakening this month and I really thought of my human brain as this vessel that only has 1% or less of the cosmic soul in it; when he talks about himself in the 3rd person he stepped out of his former conditioning and now the higher self is speaking; the astral soul which reincarnates; Jim Carey was just one of his lifes on this Earth;

OBSCURA I hope so as well. But I know since the death of his (ex) girlfriend he's going through a tough period.. He's not in any new movies, he's avoiding news, etc.. and yeah he just looks sad to me..

Lennert Olsen Exactly. When hes looking at the crowd & you remember the CULMINATION of his work, Dumb & Dumber, Bruce Almighty, Ave Ventura, Me Myself & Irene, Liar Liar...then in that moment hes much older, with a beard, and he seems happy just drinking it all in as if saying "I made it, ive done it all". wish i knew the song.
