the NFL, fans and media treat their players better is why. NFL has the benefit of tv contracts. NBA players are treated like crap even by their own teams and teammates and most players are miserable. and the NHL and MLB are even worse. a lot of that has to do with spectator sports vs. tv sports but also because the number of games and travelling involved.. NHL/NBA you travel to 41 games, MLB is even more. imagine travelling that much in a season and how fed up you would be. in the NHL you are born and bred to play hockey and they get no life outside of it. they turn pro as teenagers and get traded all over the place. you would be in a bad mood too having to constantly move around
