Americans don’t know this but this man is filthy rich. It’s true that his new show Lupin is doing great in the US but he has been rich for over a decade. Omar Sy doesn’t need the us market to stay wealthy. Jimmy talks to him as if he just made it because he moved to America. He bought a 7 million dollar house in LA before Lupin. That goes to show how good of a career he has had in Europe and mainly in french cinema. One of my favourite actors of all time. I’ve seen most of his work. I understand and speak french and to appreciate his acting work it is necessary you understand what he is saying.

Fun fact : many years ago Omar Sy was a comedian in a duet with a guy name Fred, they were just hilarious, in one of their skit, Fred was a crazy psychic and predicted to Omar (who was playing a maid who just lost his job ) that one day he would become a great movie star in the US ( or Canada don't remember ) and that he should take all his family and move there. That's exactly what Omar did years later, I'm so proud of him he is from a very humble background and he rised up to the top in France and now in USA 💖

I guess maybe Mr Jimmy Kimmel was trying to make him more relatable for the American audience (speculation) but this was a very shallow interview and just left me wondering why there weren't more of the types of questions he asks his other guests. Omar Sy is captivating and it would be cool to have been given more challenging and/ or personal questions, not like (how it came across to me), "Hey. You're in America now, right? So what American things do you know? Let's qualify you."
@anibalramirez26253 жыл бұрын
I see your point and totally relate with it, but I think mostly was to keep it simple for him due to the language barrier, I guess if Kimmel dove too deeply in to things, it would make it harder for Sy to get his point across, dragging out his spot on the show for longer than it was scheduled for
