You know...im just sitting here in my garage with my stripped e36 waiting for me to touch it...thinking about how this is my favorite channel right now. Of course you have the Adams and the TJs and everyone else...but nobody does it like Jimmy and the Crew. Everyone tries to have personalities in the vids...but nobody does it better than this channel. And you have a perfect balance of comedy and information. Nobodys doing it like you guys. Look into Forced Induction blower lid spacers. I had a buddy with an ls3 and LSA blower in a 64 Nova that saw a 10% decrease in IAT's. We also used the thermal barrier on the valley cover in conjunction with Phenolic intake spacers to give a greater clearance for air flow, this gave another 5% decrease. Overall we saw 15 Degree drop in IAT's after and it took much longer to get heat soaked.

Jim, you can add a thermal barrier coating to the supercharger. Contact a plasma coating job shop. There are several in Ct. Have them put a Nicole aluminum plasma bond coat . 005 to .007 thick. Then ceramic plasma top coat. 8 percent yitria stabilized zirconia .008 to .012 thick. This TBC system will reduce the operating temperature by 25 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit. The finished coated surface will still retain its finned high surface area cooling surface

I'm glad you keyed the crank! I've made well over 1000hp with 2 dowels, never used 4. ARP sells the crank pulley bolt that's long enough to install the crank pulley. It's alot easier and safer than heating up the pulley. I have heated it up and reused the factory bolt on turbo setups and it's fine. LS are magic. 220k miles, all the grease and grime just pushed into the engine, mismatched heads, nicked #8 piston and still makes 1058hp on a 346ci lmao. Don't every be skurred

Whys no one talking about how that accessory belt route is wrong for the lower idler pulley. Thats why its too long. Its meant to go straight from the dampener to the idler before going around the alternator.

Even less intrusive to the hood while offering even better cooling is the switch to an LS9-style lid: stock ZR1, aftermarket Kong, or aftermarket Syngery Motorsports/Xtreme CFM. They allow you to run the dual brick setup with more hood clearance and better cooling capabilities.

Dude bought a Chevelle that had been LS swapped by p/o and he couldn't figure out what the accessories were from/what donor the LS came from. It was like pulling teeth trying to get him to email me a picture of the damn thing... eventually I figured it out thanks to the GM Performance catalog. It was a Cadillac CTS donor engine.

The smaller the pulley the more boost you'll make. Imagine you have a big pulley and one that's a quarter of the size of the big one and rolled them one rotation. The big one would roll further than the small one and the small one would have to rotate 4 times to go the same distance as the big one. So for every one rotation of the big pulley the smaller one would rotate 4 times therefore the smaller one would spin the supercharger faster than a bigger one.

Yo Jimmy, you should try a Procharger on that LS engine. I think you would prefer it, over the supercharger. JMO of course, but I think its a better choice for the LS platform.
@TaterVFX Жыл бұрын
Definitely less heat soak
@kasper_429 Жыл бұрын
Don't the Procharger style blowers work like a turbo and mostly give top end power? The twin screw/positive displacement style blowers give instant torque and power, which I would think would be better for drifting. Torque = wheel speed, wheel speed = tire smoke. Lol.
@tjgreen4417 Жыл бұрын
The Procharger's have instant power as well these days. They got them figured out awhile back. With boost being in direct relation to engine RPM. Do a pulley change based off what you want from your setup. The guys over at Procharger have really done a great job, fixing the issues, that they had earlier on with the power curve down low. They have it now where you get the same power their known for at the higher rpms. While also giving you immediate power at lower rpms.Thats prolly why in No prep there are so many running prochargers & the ones running them, are killers to the 60ft. Also Jimmy's cars being for drifting & rolling pulls, etc. The procharger would be ideal IMO. Thats with factoring in , the procharger is more efficient & less heat sink as well.
