Great reaction! Yes, Taka respects Linkin Park and they also recognized OOR's talent.Taka and Linkin Park had a relationship and they were supposed to perform together at US and JP concerts in 2017, but Chester passed away and the tour was canceled. Taka was invited to a memorial concert in LA and performed “Somewhere I Belong”. There is also a valuable interview between Taka and Linkin Park on KZbin☺ OOR should tour the US again this year!...❤

comment from Japan! excuse my bad english... I've been to one of their concert in Tokyo but it was life changing experience. Especially his MC was heartbreaking. You can feel how much this band cherishes its fans, and it speaks to the importance of being true to oneself amidst various temptations. After going to their concert, you will definitely feel motivated to do your best the next day. Also, as Taka, the vocalist, has mentioned, this band is greatly influenced by Linkin Park.

They have been touring the world for years now. A few years ago, they were not well-known and traveled around the country by bus, performing on small stages and with few audiences. However, they said in an interview that the reason they keep trying is to make rock music, which has become completely obsolete, popular again in America 🇺🇸. As a side note, TAKA lives in Los Angeles. Bassist Ryota's wife, whom you praised highly, is Avril Lavigne's younger sister Michelle!

One ok rock, as I have heard in enterviews, has lots of Western world inspirations. Their label is fueled by Ramen. Taka and the band were good friends with linkin Park. They were planning on touring together before Chester Bennington untimely passing. Taka wears a lot of Metallica t-shirts. But, they have had collaboration with sleeping with sirens, Avril laving, 5sos, teddy swims, they co-wrote a song with Ed sheeran Taka has done a duet with Arnel Pineda from journey. He has also collaborated with again the current, and many and taka has said in interviews that really like country music. So I believe their influences are pretty wide. It's what makes me like them so much. They are so versatile. Even though they are rock, they can and do mix it a lot. These amazing musicians love the art of music in general. oneokrock was inspired by Linkin Park to start playing music. They were scheduled to play a show with Linkin Park in 2017, but Chester Bennington passed away a month ago and that show was lost.

Speaking to Kerrang! after the 2017 Linkin Park And Friends tribute show in honour of Chester, frontman Taka Moriuchi recalled hearing the band for the first time in the cinema. “It was a shock to me, as it seemed like such a new thing to hear - I thought it was really fucking cool,” he said. “Later I met Toru [Yamashita, ONE OK ROCK guitarist] and he loved Linkin Park too, and their music gave us a reason to want to be in a band and make music.”

The first time I saw them live was in August 2017, just after Chester Bennington's passing. They performed Linkin Park's "One More Light" in tribute to him, and there are no words to describe that moment and that performance. Never pass up an opportunity to see them live...they do not disappoint. Ever.
