JIMNY AUTOHOME ROOFTOP TENT + UPDATE ON FUTURE MODS 👌

Here is a video of my experience with a AutoHome Columbus Rooftop Tent. To make a long story short it is in my opinion that it is the best looking and best suitable tent out there period. It is easy to mount and take off, it is very easy to set up and also good to sleep in. But! there is always a But! the Jimny is a lightweight car and it cannot carry heavy load on top. The Suzuki dealership only recommends max 35kg load which is ridiculously low weight.
My tent is 59kg which is almost double recommended weight!!
So driving the Jimny is hard all ready without the tent, but it becomes very hard with the tent on.
So you have to be a very brave driver to ride around with any Rooftop Tent in general on top of the Jimny and don't recommend it to anyone really.
But to be honest it only wobbles on tarmac in higher speeds, but is ok on any gravel road.
Also there is a update on all the future upgrades on the big Jimny like the new Long Ranger fuel tank and the ARB base rack an last but not least the Bullet Supercharger, Also we will be doing a upgrade on the exhaust and new Recaro sport seats.

I would love to get a jimny and spec it out as an overlander for just two people. I think it can be done, but like you said, there are better options. It would be in use as a daily driver and weekend (most likely 2 to 4 times a month) off roading. That plus a couple big / longer trips throughout the year. Hopefully I will be test driving one soon to see how much I like / don't like it. I'm worried I will be underwhelmed by it's power. Can't wait to see more on the super charger.

Congrats for this very interesting video. I did more or less the same research for a lightweight and compact rooftop tent suitable for the Jimny and my attention was caught by the iKamper Skycamp Mini. Did you also consider this tent? If yes, there was any specific reason (apart from the very high price) leading you to discard it?

Update on the Artic Trucks Jimny. Well it's currently broken and it's going back to Artic Trucks November 1st. The reason why it's broken, it's couple of things.1 The low gear does not work, 2 the gearbox in general wants to end it's life, 3 needs new ball joints. Is the car an unreliable tin can? Yes but it's getting all sorted out, just got to get over the hump. In other updates the car is getting winter prep from Artic Trucks. Witch includes 35' snow tires, a cargo box in the back, and bunch of safety gear. When will my car be back in the videos? I don't know right now, maybe in a snow trip, would be nice 😉

Hey! Did you end up installing the bullet supercharger? I’m looking at forced induction for mine, super charger would be ideal for off-roading, but would be keen to hear how your install went

Hi, yes I did put it in. But it was crazy work and cost. For an example I had to replace the fuel injectors and the original engine computer. So i would not recommend this kit from Bullet because they are selling a non finished product. Still working on a video of the installation.

I'm a heavier set man (around 90kg) is there any chance of damaging the car's suspension if I purchase this tent and sleep on the roof? (Especially if I haven't changed the suspensions, wheels, etc)?

No I don’t think so, i weigh around 100kg and no problem. The most important thing is the weight of the tent while driving because it affects the drive capabilities.
