Sarah, I have a Jimny which is terrific so For the distance problem I put it on a trailer and tow it behind my RAM 1500 which has a 200 Lt tank. The perfect combo. 😎 Love watching your filming and informative comments. ✅🇦🇺

You're an inspiration not to just solo female travellers Sarah, but to anyone who is thinking of getting out of their comfort zone and taking those first steps towards living life. I'm an old fart, heading towards retirement and plan on doing my lap next year. Wish I had your courage when I was 33. Glad you're OK after your accident. Keep smiling. "Hi friend 👋" to the fellow Jimny was very cute too 🤣😍

Hey Sarah, I just realised that my adventure-loving 18 granddaughter, who is about to take off on her epic circumnavigate of Oz, owns a Suzi Jimny. I think her BF drives a clapped out Toyota 4wd. Gonna be interesting to see what vehicle the take off in...🤔

So much good information here!!! Whatever you have... give it a crack. Something tells me Sarah that you will pick up a Luxe with gvm upgrade, canopy and rooftop tent for your longer travels....... the Jimny is surprisingly capable but small like you say. I hope the repairs are easy and not too expensive. Will insurance help? Happy trails, Sarah!!!
@sarahrosefoster8 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes covered under insurance thankfully, just the excess I have to pay. It’s always good to hear how others accomodate travels but definitely agree the Jimny is so capable but … 👀🫣 watch this space haha

Ah bugger!! Sorry to hear about hitting the roo. I debated putting a bullbar on my Ducato camper van but figured it would only take one roo to really mess things up, so forked out the $4k for a bullbar. Took 9 weeks to get too but worth the wait. Glad I did it. It looks badass too. :)

Glad you are safe. Jimmy survived EGK (eastern grey kangaroo) or western? (WGK). I have hit quite a few in my working life. Most survived but bad ones did not. It is a risk of travelling our wide brown land and bull bars are essential for EGK’s in the regions. Jimny’s are a cult, I have the old 2011 jimmy, at 1300cc’s, it cannot keep up on the open road but it fits any car parking spot. Thanks for the video.

Sarah...I would be surprised if there wasn't a jerry can rack that fits on your back door like many Jeep owners have, Nice to have multiple sources of income and that free diving trip sounds exciting!

hey Sarah, a couple suggestions for when you hit the road again. 1. when you come across a random painted blue tree (in the wild) included it in your vlog. It is part of the Blue Tree Project for mental health awareness. 2. when you come across grain silo art included that in your vlog too, throw up the drone.

Hi Sarah . Unfortunate about that pesky "Roo . Retired Long Haul Truckie here . While the Little Suzuki is getting patched up DO Get the Long-range Fuel Tank . Also get a 'Roo Bar fitted , maybe with some Spotlights or a Lightbar . Also , a Deep Cycle Auxiliary Battery with an Accessory de-mountable Solar Panel charging system . Also , since you MUST NOT depend on having Phone Service , perhaps think about a Compact HF band Radio OR carry an EPIRB ( a Radio Emergency Beacon ) . I know there are Money constraints , involved , but some of this Equipment CAN save your Life if you are Stuck , Alone in a Remote Place . Best of Luck with your Travels Honey . P.S. You could look into a " Fuel Saver " tune on the Engine , if it is Fuel Injected .

Hi Sarah, Sorry to hear about you altercation with the roo, they can destroy a car you were rather lucky though it could have been a lot worse I"ve hit a few roo's myself in my travels and luckily my bullbar has saved the car and me. The main thing is you are ok.Thanks for the info on your gear I'm thinking of getting a GoPro myself for my travels and four wheel driving, I'm very impressed with the results that you are getting.I am interested in how you are copping with the size and space of your Jimny and I know the fuel capacity is a problem in my Sierra too.I am looking at the five door model as the extra space would be a bonus.Anyway stay safe and keep up the work we will all be watching with interest for your next adventure Best Wishes Graeme W.
@sarahrosefoster8 ай бұрын
Thanks Graeme, you’re absolutely right I was VERY lucky with the damage being so minor and I’m ok! GoPros are fantastic you’ll do well with it! Space wise, I just find ways to organise and if something comes in a compact version I buy it 😂 the 5 door would definitely have more space however be mindful that the seats don’t fold completely flat on the 5 door as they do on the 3 door 🙏🏼

Another thought.....I did a similar trip a few years ago across and around Australia on a BMW motorcycle. The rule was no riding after dark because of the kangaroos, Emu and Wombats. Same holds true in the US. We have deer that love to jump out in front of you at night which can make everyone unhappy. Sadly, the animal loses more than the vehicle does.
@sarahrosefoster8 ай бұрын
You’re absolutely right ! New rule I’ll be implementing where possible

Knowledge is power. You should have at least a general understanding of the vehicle so you can assess anything that might be off in the future and maybe even get yourself out of a jam. That was a long drive from SA to Qld to get repairs.
