I like your way of thinking, I haven't done any post apocalyptic builds but I see a hell of a lot of talent goes into building them. To be able to build something from scraps is badassery my friend ! Well done ! 🍻

Thanks Keith! The citadel paints are fantastic! I’ve even painted over them with the Metalcast color coat and had great results (red clear tinted color coat over black citadel was amazing). I’m going to have to give those Splash paints a try too...hopefully soon.

I had purchased some 3D printed weapons (2 sets to be exact) and was waiting until I got some small magnets, so I could make modular weapons for my main rides. When some thief stole all of my Gaslands stuff. So most of everything I do nowadays is pretty much scratch built or taken from other diecast vehicles. Nicely done Jim. I'm looking forward to more post apocalyptic diecast builds and then some...

Alvarez's Diecast Customs Thanks! I was pretty sure I saw your last video so I just checked and remembered I got a call and didn’t finish it. I was at the 17 minute mark and I just hit play now and within a few seconds, there was that damned tow hook lolol. It was a beautiful build.

@@JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms thanks! I guess there's always room for improvement to some people. I'm all for trying though in a couple of videos or so. It'll be an interesting test im sure.
@JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms5 жыл бұрын
Alvarez's Diecast Customs I’m anxious to see if your results are any different than mine. When I’ve tried waxing the car, I can’t say it’s made a noticeable difference. One time I tried saving a paint job with gauzy / floor polish and it did make a difference, but only because I couldn’t bring any shine to the original paint and I was curious what would happen.
@AlvarezAzel5 жыл бұрын
@@JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms Im in the same boat. I'm not sure how far it can be taken. These cars are so small that the overall paint area is very small, id be most concerned with burning holes into the paint. However im all for trying though, I decided im going to redo my first ever build on my channel as in my opinion that had the worst paint job I have done so I'm going to see if I can do the best I can do on it.

Bad ass man! Looks like the whole bed could rise up and rotate. I love it. These are one of my favorite builds. I have the same truck that imma lower and matte paint and throw wide five stars on it. Ill trade you the one you just built for some cars I have lol
@JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Wade! It was fun tackling this from a scratchbuilt or scrapbuilt approach instead of the “usual” printed parts add-one. I think it became a more creative build as a result.
@wadevallbona53145 жыл бұрын
@@JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms I happen to agree. I like the builds where you use what you have. I enjoy them all but the ones with 3d printed parts seems out of my means. Those things are expensive.
@JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms5 жыл бұрын
Wade Vallbona It’s a weird thing with the 3D parts. Buying the parts is expensive. I bought a cheap 3D pla printer that works great for my post apocalyptic builds and the parts cost a few cents each. A resin printer would produce finer results, but at a higher cost and be more work.
@wadevallbona53145 жыл бұрын
@@JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms well i never thought that i could afford one. I never knew it was a thing to be honest. Your builds are amazing. Keep up the good work. And as soon as I start on mine Im going to post them on here
@noexpensespentstudios5 жыл бұрын
I've been really enjoying your builds since finding your channel, lots of inspirational stuff that I can transfer to my own projects. The reason for the Citadel paint names is the Games Workshop wider universe, which has been around since the late 70s. The names are pretty odd out of context. That green is a flesh colour for orks (because everyone knows orks are green, right? and it's orks with a k not a c because they're in space... fantasy logic, it's great), for example, and the WAAAGH! bit is to do with their lore and whatnot. Please do keep up the excellent work and the imaginative builds, they're a lot of fun to watch.
@JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms5 жыл бұрын

@JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Can’t wait to see the Mad Max build. I know exactly what you mean about the citadel paints - you have to see the color before you have any idea if it’s anything close to what you want. That Waaagh! Flesh (yes, it has an exclamation point in it) being green is crazy. You should give a post apocalyptic build a try, off camera, no deadlines, just to see if it’s relaxing - I didn’t think I would like them originally, but they’re oddly relaxing and fun...nothing about them needs to be exact lol
