Jim, besides being a great mechanic., your a very good teacher. You are very patient when working on vehicles, & you explain everything that might of been missed during the video like lubricating the O-ring. I also want to add for the non professionals to disconnect the negative battery terminal.. Thanks for making these videos.

Right now running good no engine lite but at the drop of hat it dies eng lite comes on , real intermittent! Thinking maybe bad pressure sensor?!?!?! Truck runs great till it don’t

I wish my sons 04 4.0 was this easy. He’s got the one with the freaking plastic intake that needs to be removed because it sits under the intake. Sad thing is 6 months ago I had it off to replace the valve cover gaskets 😢😢😢😢😢😢

That sounds very good . I have a Ford Explorer 2003 4.0L V6 single overhead cam . The problem is My Truck over heated I replaced the Top reservoir That has the thermostat and temperature sensor on the platform . My platform back wall blowout from the antifreeze which overheated. I put in a brand new crank sensor and cam sensor. I I pulled up the spark plugs check them they were dry, So I I put liquid wrench in the cylinders and I let it sit overnight . I turn harmonic balance pulling foot backwards and forward complete 360 revolution The motor was not lock . I put in a brand new water pump. I had to replace the alternate with a brand new one cause it burnt out .My Battery was dead I bought a new one.i brought a new coil pack and wire's and new spark plugs. My truck is cranking starting but no sound or fuel pressure going to the gas pump. My truck sounds like it wants to start real bad but nothing's hitting the gas pump Please let me know the answer I thank you I can't move My truck. The meter man keeps trying to give me tickets for not moving my truck, I spent a lot of money in new parts no insurance no tags on the truck, I am trying my best to fix it so I can get insurance and tags please let me know what's the problem thank you have a blessed day.

Can that part cause a Car to not turn on?

Interesting how the data showed 0 psi when the engine finally stalled but yet there was still a good amount of pressure in the regulator/sensor. Must be a check valve somewhere in that line? Nice fix Jim.

It took a long time! Presumably the negative pressure from the torn vacuum diaphragm was drawing fuel into the intake plenum, even with very little pressure back at the pump. My fuel hungry vehicles die within seconds of pulling the relay, ha ha.

It's a shame these codes can't pinpoint the exact problem component in the string of mechanisms that make up that portion of the car's anatomy. For instance. I had this same problem and bought a new FRPS and by the time I moved everything out of the way, installed the part, and put everything back together. I noticed the car still wouldn't get out of safe mode even when I cleared the codes. So I started to look at the throttle body and it did have some grime built up, so I started cleaning it and ended up breaking a screw in it and ended up buying a new one for like 180 bucks. That seemed to do the trick when I cleared the codes, but after driving like 20miles I started to smell gas from the heater :( I pull over and look under the hood to find that the sensor is pissing gasoline onto the fuel rail... I can't see whether it's coming from the vacuum line or if the o ring is just messed up or something. Gonna put the old FRPS on and see if it was the throttle body messing with my car this whole time. So far I'm in about 230 bucks, but if those codes were more specific or precise I probably wouldn't have felt like I had to buy the new FRPS. Anyway my advice... Just clean everything from the airbox to the throttle body carefully! You may just have some stuff built up on the metal-air vent valves that once removed would get your car out of safe mode and without error codes? You know what I mean though? It gives you errors from the foot pedal and everything else up to the throttle body. So really your better off just going over those components carefully before purchasing anything new since it could literally be any one of the things that make the throttle happen. If your pissing fuel from the sensor it's probably that, but if you got here like me... Just clean everything, check your o rings and lines before buying new parts. Cause there's no way of knowing for sure what's going on, but you do know your car worked with those parts in it recently.
