Nice reaction guys. Ginger, you're a metal head, and Mike, you're a good sport listening to Jinjer even though it's not your cup of tea. I'm 50 years old, and have been a metal head for over 40 years, and I can honestly say that I've never liked "growling" vocals before, ever. Then I heard Jinjer, actually by mistake (long story) and the first song I heard from them was "Perennial" live at Wacken open Air 2019. I remember thinking to myself, I don't know what I just saw and heard, but I think I love her LOL 😆😆😆 It was just something about Tatiana, she is something special vocally, and like I said, I've never liked "growling" vocals. I think what it is, is that she sings beautifully, and combines that with the growl. The guys, are incredible musicians as well. I'm now a huge Jinjer fan, so much so that I have them in my personal top 10 favorite metal bands of all time. Well enough of my rambling, Ginger I hope you continue on this Jinjer journey, and Mike, continue to be a cool and understanding guy even though Jinjer is not for you, but may you both always stay Metal. 😊😊🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶

You should try Opeth because that band and the mix of growls and clean vocals by Mikael Akerfeldt is also out of this world. Opeth is a veteran band that has been doing this stuff since the early 1990s and the band Jinjer credits Opeth as their biggest influence and Tatiana herself has said that nobody can mix the growls and clean vocals better then Mikael Akerfeldt.

It always amazes me that they can make such a complex sound with so few musicians: they're all working really hard for every second of every track. There's no wandering off for a drink and chat in the middle of somebody else's solo in this band... Ginger: the Jinjer video I think you'd like is Judgement And Punishment. Not the one-take play-through (which is good, but really more for vocal coach reactors to get their teeth into) but the original music video. Plenty of story and interesting video techniques, and Tati having WAY too much fun playing a scary witch... :-)

Jinjer heavily credits Opeth as a major influence and Tatiana Shmaylyuk has said in an interview that Mikael Akerfeldt is the best vocalist at mixing growls and clean vocals. Mike might like Opeth better than Jinjer. Mike probably doesn't like or should I say not his cup of tea the Opeth death metal side to them but Opeth gets very prog at times with a Yes vibe and gets a chill Pink Floyd vibe as well. They are all over the place like Jinjer and Opeth has been doing this since the early 1990s. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYSTn4mig7l2oZo

Opeth in my opinion was everybit as big of an influence as Tool in the metal scene if not more at influencing future metal bands and individual metal musicians. We always heard of Tool, Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, STP, Red Hot Chili Peppers but too many people missed out on what Opeth did to the metal scene in the early 1990s. Without Opeth there would be no Jinjer and countless other metal bands as well. Opeth is the most underrated band in metal IMO!

Going back and listening to Motorhead kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZ7Fp4qkZqqMbMk I can hear how Motorhead, who is a metal band with heavy Punk elements, and the hardcore Punk sound from the late 1970s heavily influencing the extreme metal genres that we got with Thrash metal, death metal, hardcore metal, black metal, etc. Lemmy's voice sounds like pre fry screaming as does the vocalists of 1970s hardcore Punk. The extreme metal genres just tweaked that style IMO to give itself a metal flavor. Extreme punk and extreme metal have much in common. Do you agree or disagree Mike, Ginger or anyone else?

You seem to prefer songs that are more upbeat than most of Jinjer's stuff but sometimes the social commentary is more important. Please react to their new video, Home Back. As far as social or political commentary is concerned, Bob Dylan and Bono couldn't come up with a better song/statement.

Tatiana has quite a good voice when singing clean but the unclean vocals spoil this IMO. I’m with Mike with this one, not my cup of tea. I don’t mind some unclean vocals but when the majority of the sing is that way I tend to switch off. I did watch whole of reaction though. May I suggest “Through the Valley” by American musician Shawn James, I think you might like this one. ❤️🤘🇦🇺
