Thanks for a wonderful video. I got mine in the mail today. I cleaned the the nib/section and converter with ammonia and water, flushed everything out. Filled it with ink and it writes beautifully. Lovely. Couldn't be happier. ❤😊

I love this pen, especially at the price. The huge converter holds more than 2 ml of ink, more than many piston-filling pens. The nib is indeed a smooth, wet firm medium that hasn’t had any hard start issues. I had inked mine with Diamine Red Dragon too, it seems such a natural pairing. There is a lot of Chinese symbolism built into this pen, focused on events in 1935, hence the name. I learned about this from comments in other reviews. I knew about the thinness of the clear barrel - to accommodate that huge converter in a narrower pen - but have not heard of any cracking or breaking incidents. I think we’ll be fine if we’re gentle when attaching the barrel to the section. This pen feels better in my hand than the wider Jinhao 9019. I’m using it a lot.

I agree with all of your comments. I'm pretty gentle with my pens, so I'm not worried about it cracking, unless I were to drop it! And then I'd be very sad. 😔 I really look forward to getting a new Chinese pen. Because they don't break my budget, I don't feel so much guilt at buying one; now and then.

@@teresaharris-travelbybooks5564 : I agree with your comments too! I love that I can buy a variety of beautiful, well-designed and reliable pens that are a joy to write or draw with. The expensive ones from other countries are beyond my reach. It’s exciting to see new models coming out, continually improving and breaking new ground. I’ve “pen-fected” friends and even my doctor and now they’re fountain pen enthusiasts too. There’s no going back to skinny, generic, hard-writing ball points or rollerballs after experiencing the beautiful, effortless glide of a favorite fountain pen with a favorite ink.

I, like you, was fortunate to see Jimi Hendrix in concert as well. The concert was shortly before his first album was released. He was not super well known yet and the concert was in a small 1500 seat auditorium, very intimate. And like you a life long memory!

I desperately wanted to see him destroy his guitar. He was well known for that; in the early days. But; alas; he did not.

@@pga2xs yes, I may be confused about that. He would smash his guitar into the amp. As time went on, his guitars no doubt became too expensive and too precious to do that

Hi Teresa, my copy of the pen arrived today 6/21/24. I originally had not intended on getting this pen but since the pen cost was so little & I had a 20% discount on Etsy which esybuy honored I figured why not! It has the larger capacity converter and a #8 size nib (but it's a little shorter than the Wing Sung 630 nib). It writes better than I expected for a fine nib. It is definitely a wet writer, and I think I would have liked it in extra fine since the fine writes a lot broader than I'm used to. I inked mine with Noodler's Widow Maker which seems to be a good match. I did notice later on that they had a green version. I might have ordered that one had I seen it sooner, but one is enough so I won't order the green one later on.

Thank you for the comments. I agree that the pen writes a larger line than expected. Mine is more like a medium/broad. I like that it is a wet writing nib. I'm not aware of a green edition. Interesting. I'll check that out. Enjoy your new 🖊 pen!

I’ve ordered one of these, they look nice, apart from the guitar clip, which I am going to attempt to remove and replace with a different Jinhao clip. Very good review. Thank you.
