Jinhao 777 fountain pen (Lamy safari knockoff) review and drawing something.

That 18KGP means 18 karat gold plate, which is stamped on many Jinhou nibs whether gold plated or not, but is instead a legacy from their actual gold plated nibs, AFIK. I have quite a few of these 777’s and they’re really quite good. Mine all have EF as the only nib stamping. I got 11 for about AU$ 14 on Temu. Make enough of anything and it becomes cheaper and this doesn’t usually involve manual labour. There’s no meticulous and highly skilled fitting here. Enjoy these guilt and gilt free! 👍🏻 A cat must always be exactly where the action and attention is. 😁

Economies of scale. Large unified market of 1.4 Billion people makes everything somewhat cheaper, but especially, it allows you to produce in much larger volumes, which again makes things cheaper. Combine that with heavy automation and non-existant QC, and bam. Such a pretty kitty too!

I like the review and your cat! I ordered safari and jinhao 777 and a no name one I think is jinhao. Looking to try them. I got some Parker pens from china and they are terrible with Parker cartridges. Going to get some bottled ink. That river location looks great.

In terms of quality one can always purchase a Safari with an EF nib. Now of course, it will cost more, but you will not have the same quality concerns.

The Jinhao 777 EF nibs are not that good, they tend to be scratchy and ink flow is that great as to the *Lamy Safari* nibs, they are 100% tested before shipping!

Thanks for the nice comment. In these cheap fountain pens the ink flow varies from pen to pen. Although sometimes it helps to wash any oils off the nib before hand. And yes using good quality ink also can help

I don't believe the Jinhao 777 is a _Lamy Safari knock off_ I believe its a cheaper version *Try before you buy* and they wish people to give it a go be fore buying a Lamy Safari, and also they may be paying homage to Lamy, as the Jinhao doesn't have Lamy on it, which would be unlawful! And yes there are fake Lamy Safari pens out there that use standard plastic, not ABS plastic!

i would say its as goos as the safari. And they have some anodized rainbow nibs that are beautiful and different color for the body. Mayube the nibs are better on the safari but a lot of people say they are hit or miss . + you have to buy the converter

@@emanuelshamku141True about clones _not knock offs,_ they can be as good as Safari fountain pens. I buy my Lamy Safari pens on line through AliExpress and so far then come with a converter and cartridge They are well under retail price. Here in Australian and New Zealand priced around $60 plus the converter $10. With the _cheaper_ versions of the Safari, the EF nib is rubbish, its scratchy and the ink doesn't flow properly! The Safari nib are 100% good as they are all tested before shipping!

This is a great way to try the Safari shape to see if you'll like it and the grip, before buying the real one that's more expensive

This is probably better then the safari, all the safari has for it are the shape cause the nibs are hit or miss. instead of a safari you could get a better pen for the same price
