I've been to their concert recently in Brazil, they've played every new song including Green Serpent, and it was one of the best concerts I've been to. Tatiana live is absolutely amazing, she sounds as good as the studio versions if not better, the same can be said for the rest of the band honestly, but Tatiana is just incredible.

A Russian idiom has the green serpent representing alcohol, and being bitten by the green serpent representing alcoholism. Tatiana has been sober for about 2 years, so this song is about her personal struggle. This is some of my favourite vocal melodic composition from Tati, & I love her extensive use of her *gorgeous* head voice to hit highs in this piece, a part of her vocal repertoire that we've heard very little of before now. The section with the combined guitar & bass tapping with great tom drum groove is incredible, & I love the Opethy outro. Even the stripped down, simple chuggy riffs in the last two heavy sections are a welcome addition, as Jinjer fans usually have to struggle to head bang to Jinjer's weird rhythms & unusual, shifting time signatures (which I also love, of course). This is a *great,* *beautiful* song, an instant Jinjer classic, IMO.

Conversely, at one time she used to say she couldn't relax without alcohol. It's great that she has more control of her life now.

Great reaction and analysis. I think you'll love the girl power on stage in Spiritbox's live Circle With Me featuring Tatiana. Courtney and Tati are friends off-stage and they are having so much fun it's epic.

This song is great, the mix beetween the clean and the harsh vocals is on point.

It is indeed about alcoholism. Tati and I believe Eugene both struggled with it, which is why the lyrics are very personal for them. To be fair they literally grew up in a warzone, would be impossible not to get fucked up by that.

@ they’re from Ukraine. Even before the latest conflict things were often unstable and there was much violence around them. It’s the subject of “Home Back”

The song is about alcoholism and the destruction that it creates in your life to you and those around you Tatiana has been sober for two years from what I understand

Being bite by the 'Green Serpent' in Slovic represents alcoholism. Tati is two years sober.

Not in 'Slovic' (I suspect you meant 'slavic', but there is no ONE 'slavic' language or culture). Only in Russian and Ukrainian. 'zelenaya smeya' means any alcohol, especially Vodka.

They released this video on or very close to the 2nd year anniversary of Tatiana being sober.

I lost a good deal of my time as a child because alcohol and getting to know my dad he was not an alcoholic like many people he also used it as a way of medicating himself as a painkiller for whatever going on with him in his head or whatever pain he was carrying it

lol Green Serpent is metaphorically referred to alcohol in russian. Bitten by green serpent in slavic tradition is symbolic of alcoholism and the depths of intoxication/addiction.....as for the song, the opeth outro is cool. Middle LOG breakdown is cool. Also kinda sounds like an angular proggy album cut on first listen, but quickly turns out to be a banger.....also tati looks hot here 😂😂 Jinjer - Audiotree From Nothing (Live Performance) Jinjer - Call Me A Symbol (Official Live in LA)
