It's pretty easy in german w's are pronounced as v's so wacken is pronounced vacken. And I think their fan base is primarily people who enjoy the talent and lyrics in most of jinjers music. I personally stopped listening to metal music in mid 2000s because it all started to sound the same and when I came across pisces the first time I knew I needed to hear more and they have become my favorite band.

Sometimes the different styles are referred as "clean" vocals and "extreme" vocals. Extreme vocals are of course screaming and growling. Also there are different kinds of growling, Tatiana mainly uses two. You can watch some Melissa Cross videos where she explains the techniques and the differences. You don't need a ton of talent to growl (although it helps, like with every kind of singing), just a ton of practice and dedication. Tatiana is self taught, she was inspired to learn how to scream after watching an Otep (also a female-fronted band) concert.

Trying to remember how to pronounce Wacken is like the time we went to Kissimmee Florida on vacation (Disney World). Everyone in the car was debating how to pronounce "Kissimmee" whether the emphasis was at the beginning middle or end. So we finally get to town and go into a fast food place and my dad asks the cashier how to pronounce the name of this place, and the lady behind the counter without skipping a beat says "Mac Donalds". To answer yr last question: most metal genres is predominately male. However when I went to Wacken 2years ago I would say at least nearly half the crowd was female! So it is definitely getting more popular! :D ladywise Also there was zero assault cases that weekend. So we metal fellas are very well behaved and the nicest crowds considering the ‘aggressive’ sounding music. ;) 👍🙂

For me the growling is the normal voice. xD I can say you can listen to Arch Enemy - Nemesis, live at Wacken 2016. Singer Alissa is female and sings a lot with normal voice. You would say she is growling. xD Nice greetings. :)

The usual terminology is "cleans" for vocals that aren't growling. Anyone who gets critical about that needs to get a life though. ;) The metal community in general is mostly guys. This was at a major metal festival so the overall audience going to that was no doubt overwhelmingly male. At Jinjer's concerts the audience is still predominantly male but there are usually a lot more women than you see here, and not all just coming with a male partner but many apparently there by themselves, or at least pushing forward in the crowd by themselves. I'd recommend On The Top live in Kiev or the official video for I Speak Astronomy next. Her neck tattoo is the face of the Mesoamerican dragon-god of wind and learning Quetzalcoatl. She got it to commemorate their first time performing in Mexico City which was a longtime dream of hers to see. She says it was a spur of the moment decision but tattooing a dragon-god's face across her voice-box seems quite symbolic, and most appropriately so.

If you love Jinjer, your gonna love Spiritbox. I would recommend watching Courtney La Plante 1 take vocal run through of Rule of Nines. Her and Tatyana are mates and they released their respective 1 take vocals at around the same time. For their softer side, try constance, and for their heavier, try Holy Roller. Rule of Nines is a nice centre balance and introduction to them, and the 1 take shows Courtney's talent, as well as being able to see the different take she does on screams and cleans in the song. Her screams are more closer to hard-core or death metal than Tatyanas,

But to get a feal for that type of songs try (on the top) it's newer and a lot more groovy it's got really interesting time changes in the song there's so much to show you about jinjer and why we love them. Another nice reaction Hannah. Yeah the term you're probably looking for when it comes to Tati's "normal" voice is clean, so she has a "clean" and "growling/harsh" vocal. As far as the crowd being mostly male for Jinjer concerts, that's how it is, (sadly) the reason being, at least in my opinion is because Jinjer is a heavier style of metal, and females tend to not gravitate to that particular style, or they might be afraid of possibly getting hurt because the crowd tends to mosh during their concerts, who knows, but that's just my opinion. Don't get me wrong, there are many female Jinjer fans also, (just like you 😉) but they are outnumbered by males. As far as a future Jinjer reaction, I'll suggest "I Speak Astronomy" (official video) I think you'll love that one, more "cleans" and less "growls" by Tati and the song and video are absolutely beautiful. I think generally speaking there are more men into metal than women, Also alot of the time young men mainly occupy the front and center of the crowd because that's close to the mosh pit, women and children are more likely to stick to the sides well away from the mosh pit. Women on average are a bit less reckless than men so are less likely to jump in a mosh pit though obviously there are women that will.

I would say the majority of metal community is male because because woman in general tend to like the softer melodic side of music. I am glad that woman start to get into metal aswell. The best example is this band. I live for the combination of beautiful female voices and hard growls. There is a second band named spiritbox which is kinda the same style but in my opinion they dont have as many bangers as jinjer xD. Melodic progressive metal in my opinion is by far the best genre of music. If a female does both voices is am even more all over it. It is fascinating and beautiful.

The thing most pronounce wrong is primarily the beginning of the word, because they make it sound like "wacko". I think your V is phonetically closer to the German W. Why the hell would you like our German accents though? They're horrendous, I actually refuse to speak English because of it, because I know it's going to be so strong and noticeable. Metal is still a very male dominated genre, both in regards to the artists, as well as the fans. It's also still a very white music genre too. This pretty much goes back to various stereotypes. For women it is probably just indecorous to listen to such music, and nowadays next to regular pop music the hip hop & RNB scene is very big and mainstream. It's also quite a bit less popular in the US, as well as black communities, which comes down to metal being seen as "devil music", since the US still has a lot of religious hardliners. From what I can see through a lot of those reaction channels, is that the internet really helps to get rid of those stereotypes, and people of those communities being open minded enough to dive into those genres. It's quite a bit more of a normal genre in Europe, and especially popular in northern Europe, which is also the birthplace for a lot of metal bands. Ironically, the metal community is actually incredibly open and welcoming, and most metalheads are very eager to share their music with others, as well as welcoming new artists and ideas (Jinjer is also very unique and new in a lot of ways). One of the earliest and biggest metal bands with a female vocalist was Nightwish with Tarja, which managed to fill entire stadiums, long before the internet was mainstream (though, a lot of fans were also from the Goth scene).

7:24 Metal has been male dominated for ages (and probably still is), but more and more women getting into the scene, both as fans and as artists in various roles. That's a very important development and I totally support that. Especially for Jinjer I think the proportion of non-(cis)male fans is a bit higher than for other metal bands because of their diversity of styles and their ability as door-opener to heavy music.

You are right most metal fans are male its always been that way, just like you wouldn't see many dudes at Taylor Swift, Britney or Nickleback concert, The thing with Jinjer they throw every style into there music which makes them appealing to people who wouldn't normally listen to heavy music. The festival @ Wacken pronounced Vacken 😉 Jinjer where a lower tier support band if you can believe that. Apart from Tatiana's many talents Singing, Dancing, Song Writing and Fashion / Makeup Artist, her diction when she growls is better than most other growlers male or female. I could say nice things about the reaction BUT no one will see this since the party is over and host Hannah is busy doing something with lotion 😂

There was probably a load of people there who werent jinjer fans, wakken is a concert like download where theres loads of different bands on, maybe that's why mostly males? Metal music probably appeals to angry men more than it does women anyway😆
