Just as a reminder, the band started composing the music for this in March 2022, right after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. So Vlad even mentioned in an interview he could still hear bombs, rockets, and missiles at the time, and both Eugene and Roman probably could as well. Although Tati is not too outspoken, she has said at concerts/festivals that she is very much opposed to the War, so there is certainly some pent up anger and frustration in them all. It's no coincidence they are using heavy music harsh vocals, and harsh lyrics. I love that Jinjer puts so much honesty and emotion into their art.

All three guys were in Ukraine when this invasion began. Eugene had to drive through an active combat zone where shelling was happening. I do know Roman's family's status was unknown for a long time... Including his parents. As far as I know, he has been in contact with them since and all are alive but they have lost several close friends to this.

Thanks for an excellent detailed analysis of this killer track. I witnessed Jinjer live for the fourth time this Tuesday in Charlotte. They are spectacular live. They have a gargantuan sound and they play in perfect synchrony. Tatiana is the queen. She dominates the stage with a towering presence. The sudden brutality of this piece reflects the outrage of Ukrainians watching their beloved country being destroyed by an evil fascist dictator. If you believe in freedom, if you believe in democracy, you must support Ukraine for victory over Russia. Pootin is very beatable. As an American I am not afraid of his punk azz. More Jinjer please! I'm here for it. And you might check out the band that's opening for them, Hanabie from Japan. And try new Italian band Never Obey Again for some more kickass female extreme vocals.

I saw them on Tuesday in Charlotte. My fourth time in two years since I discovered them. Jinjer is my favorite band. They are amazing live. As good as it gets.

The "guitar" (5-string bass) says DNTS for "Donetsk", their home, where all of the band member lived prior to the Russian invasion in 2014 when they were forced to flee, refugees in their own country, for a decade. A subtle reminder that this war didn't start in 2022, it has been going on since Russia deployed their military into Ukraine in 2014. 2022 is when we, the west, very slowly started waking up. We're still rubbing the sleep from our eyes. Imagine, for a second, if we had the chance to stop WWII in Czechoslovakia in 1938. We have that opportunity now.
