Tatiana is a big Amy Winehouse fan. This version of Who Is Gonna Be The One is the definitive version of the song and blows the studio version out of the water. Jinjer has had several drummers but the addition of Vlad is what put them over the top. His ability to add his own spin to previously recorded songs like this one help make all of their live performances top tier.

Your first reaction to Jinjer made me realize the true talent it takes to perform those growls. Before I saw Tatiana do it I thought it was just screams but my opinion changed. I thank you for introducing me to Jinjer. The entire band is truly talented. Tatiana does have a amazing stage presence. The incredible amount of work it must have taken to teach herself how to growl like blows my mind. I have a whole new respect for men and women who sing in that style. Of course not many can alternate between growl and clean like Tatiana. I hope you don't mind such a long comment. Thank you for this reaction and ALL the others and for your wonderful streams 😊

Oh girl where you been! The Jinjer Army misses you! And you STILL haven't done Judgement & Punishment One-take vocal! That's the one I think you'll like maybe most of all. Every time you are so unbelievably blown away... and then you make us wait months for more! 😂 No, Jinjer just doesn't get old. And neither do you. We want more! They're the best. It's a match made in heaven. Seriously, you're one of my favorite reactors. You're new to metal, but you get it. I love watching noobs get hit with Tatiana, it's my hobby lol. You are fun to watch. You react to them just like I do--only you're way more beautiful lol. Yes, 30 minutes of Jinjer is kinda a crime. At those big festivals that's all many bands get. Unless you're a big headliner; those guys get an hour or 90 minutes. Interestingly, Tatiana has said she prefers a short 30 minute set, where she can give everything to each song. Man 30 minutes is barely enough for me to get warmed up onstage. She says it's a strain for her to do 90 minutes. She does put every ounce of passion into her performance. She ignites when she hits the stage. I've seen them 4 times now, all headlining shows where they played 90 minutes. Each show was completely amazing, mind-blowing. You can see them up close for pennies, and get your face melted by Tatiana and the boys. They are truly the best. The studio version isn't ALL that much different from this--but the live version just brings so much killer energy, this is the definitive version for me. Roman's guitar tone at the beginning is like my favorite guitar tone ever. The mix is perfect, and Tati goes so hard on the "don't step aside" part. Did you hear her go "woo hoo" at the beginning? You seem like you should totally be in the Jinjer Army. We love you! Love your appreciation. Love your enthusiasm. More please!! 😀❤
@alexthorpe658329 күн бұрын
It's one of their earlier songs, so a half hour at a festival isn't too surprising, before they got famous. Tatiana's charisma still shines through. I'm sure you'd love the recent song 'Someone's Daughter'. And Jinjer have a new song out this very day... I haven't heard it yet, I think I'll do that next.

Lol Jinjer still only gets 30 minutes at big festivals. They just played Aftershock and they were right in the middle of about 10 bands on that stage, headlined by dinosaurs Motley Crue. I'd rather watch 90 minutes of Jinjer than endure one note of the Crue. And yes, new songs Someone's Daughter (my fave), Rogue, and Kafka are all amazing.

I love your content - thank you for this reaction! This is a performance of a re-arrangement of the track for one guitar (2 guitarists played on the studio track, but the 2nd guitarist left the band before this performance), and it outshines the studio recording in every possible way, right down to the feedback. This is a protest song, mainly calling out pollution and challenging listeners to stand up and fight for their future. Environmental themes recur throughout 2014's Cloud Factory album, where this song first appeared. This performance is from 2018, the year after the Pisces Live Session was recorded. The reggae-esque outro is a hat-tip to Bob Marley, who is well known for protest songs and of whom Tati is a big fan. The way the outro combines a reggae riff & rhythm with a jazzy vocal style & a bluesy guitar solo is musically ingenious - I've never heard anything else like it. It is a little taste of the more progressive tendencies that were beginning to emerge at the time. There is a new album expected soon (January / February release). They have released official music videos for 3 songs ("Someone's Daughter", "Rogue" and "Kafka") from the forthcoming album.

Yes. At festivals most bands get 30 minutes each. If it's a headline tour then the headliner gets as long as they want. At festivals there is a stage manager who makes sure that each band is on time and keeps to the clock. Actually the tattoo Tatiana has on her left arm in this video is of Amy Winehouse. One of her influences along with Gwen Stephani. That's where some of the reggae comes from. I'm glad Tatiana doesn't use that road case to climb on any longer. Maybe it's just me but I would be scared to climb on one of those but then I'm probably not as sure footed as she is.
@saadesigner0716 күн бұрын
This was years ago. They play a lot longer than 30 minutes these days. Exception for festivals maybe, but I have seen them 3 times, and got 90 minutes every show.

Been a Jinjer fan for 6 years now. Everyone loves Tatiana and becomes fans because of her, but once you get deeper into their music, you realize how great the guys are as musicians. Roman is a very underappreciated and talented guitar player, Eugene has to be one of the top 5 metal bassists now, and Vlad with that tiny drum set, makes it sound so much bigger. He is a classically trained pianist and can also play mean guitar. I rate him as one of the best metal drummers in the business!! Brilliant band on the rise!! By the way Stacey, Amy Winehouse and Gwen Stefani are two of Tatiana's idols that she patterns herself after.

The odd little reggae polka vibe at the end was Tatiana's way of giving a nod to one of the bands she was in before Jinjer. The band's English spelling name is "The Kodry" (not sure what the word is in Russian or Ukrainian) and they did oddball stuff like Nirvana covers but in that reggae waltzy jazz style. There used to be videos of a very young Tati and this band The Kodry and also the band she was in before that, Prophecy, (and also cameos from Eugene and others that ended up in Jinjer) on YT but the channel owner either deleted the channel or made the videos private. It's a shame because it's really really REALLY good. Tatiana has had this swagger since she was a teenager at least and you could tell even from very early videos that she in particular would become an iconic performer and artist

If you like Jinjer I think you will also like Spiritbox, another metalcore band with a female lead singer that has beautiful clean vocals and mean harsh vocals as well. They recently did a live performance and brought out Tatiana from Jinjer on their song "Circle with Me". Other songs by Spiritbox I recommend is "Blessed Be" - "Rule of Nines (live vocal one take)" then after you have heard at least a couple of their songs check out "Holyroller".

I gather that you live in Texas, Stacey. Have you ever seen the film Paris, Texas? A film by Wim Wenders, which featured the musical soundtrack made possible by a musician who was/is regarded globally as one of your countries purest, most precious national musical treasures. Ry Cooder. Have you ever heard of him ? If you're on a quest for real musical knowledge, you should immerse yourself in some of this man's incredible music. I've followed Ry's music for, I don't know how long. The term "musical genius", is an understatement. At one time it was thought he may have been a permanent member of the Rolling Stones, but he sessioned back in 1970 on some tracks of the Stones, notably Honky Tonk Woman. Anyway, I digressed. So on with the video/song reaction we go. 👍 :-)
