@juanpalacio70685 жыл бұрын
Smoked is an understatement. Straight up shit stomped him lol.
@danlorett21845 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's actually easier to trip lock AT Xeno because while he's powered up it doesn't take that much damage to trip him if you're hitting him in the chest. That's why they were switching to shooting the leg sometimes - you don't want to go over the next trip threshold until Xeno stands back up.
@mrjazz52945 жыл бұрын
@@danlorett2184 Oh so you can go over treshold when he's already tripped? Damn, I still don't know shit about this game. How did she know when to hit leg instead of chest?? Where do you even get such info??
@danlorett21845 жыл бұрын
@@mrjazz5294 People have tested it. And yeah, you can go over trip thresholds when the monster is already down - if you do, it just resets. As for when to shoot the chest vs the leg, they calculated how many power shots it takes so they do one less, then shoot the leg. Once the monster gets up, you just shoot the chest again and it trips. You can do the same tactic with flinching too - HBG Glutton Spread can flinch lock a lot of monsters solo.
@kventinho5 жыл бұрын
I can't even pay attention to you because i'm stunned watching the background speedrunner flinchlocking fricking AT Xeno. holy shit respect to her
@EntropyUnleashed5 жыл бұрын
With the insane DPS of bow, and the fact that Xeno never changes its amount of damage needed to stomach flinch lock, it's actually pretty easy to flinch lock. Once you find a combo that flinches, you simply repeat that exact combo with the same timing. You can see her do this in the video. She doesn't really move, and she does the same combo with the same timing over and over. Flinch locking other monsters (Luna, Vaal, Kushala) is more complicated, because their flinch values change. So for those monsters it takes multiple separate scripts to flinch lock perfectly. Something like: 2 power ramp up + 1 coconut for first flinch, 1 power ramp up while flinched + 1 coconut for first knockdown, 3 power ramp ups with 1 coconut each during first knock down, then one rapid ramp up for first trip, during which 3 power ramp ups with 1 coconut each will get 2nd KO, etc. Multiple different combos have to be combined, and different combinations of combos are required for each successive CC. But on Xeno you just spam the same series of combos, since her trip value for stomach is in hyper mode never changes
@kventinho5 жыл бұрын
@@EntropyUnleashed actually I am aware of how easy it is to flinchlock AT Xeno compared to other monsters but thanks for the breakdown on how certain monsters increase flinch tolerance and bow-specific combos for other monsters - I didn't know that tolerance to flinching builds up in other monsters and that despite that there are combos to pull this off. My astonishment is mostly focused on how effortlessly she pulled it off. I guess like you said, the high DPS on bow makes it extra easy. I've only been using HBG Pierce against AT Xeno and I have never been able to pull this off with it (because Pierce ammo sucks in World).
@ulamgexe74425 жыл бұрын
@@kventinho Actually I think it's possible to flinchlock consistently at xeno with pierce, I only managed to flinch lock it 3-4 times in a row tho, but I'm not a speedrunner and I didn't try to flinchlock it to death
@kventinho5 жыл бұрын
@@ulamgexe7442 actually, now that i think about it, i've only solo'ed AT Xeno once using Pierce (and even then I was using a Fortify build to increase my DPS because i'm a shitty casual lol). The rest of my clears with AT Xeno using Pierce were in multi so I guess the flinch threshold is higher, thus why I have never seen us flinchlocking him? I may be wrong though and maybe my friends and I are just not good at it lol
@ulamgexe74425 жыл бұрын
@@kventinho yeah, flinvh treeshold increases about 30%. I think you (with your friends) did too much damage on xeno's body while it's down, so it skipped the flinch; like you skip a flinch if you break spikes of nerg while it's down (sorry for unaccuirate english)

And here I thought DJ also increases stamina regen. Now I’ll have to put SS on my builds. Thanks for this vid! :)
@vitriolicAmaranth5 жыл бұрын
It effectively does. There are two ways of thinking about it: Either that it simply decreases all stamina costs, or that it gives you a much larger stamina pool and increases regen proportionately. In either case, your ratio of time spent regenerating to time spent using is going to be lower. Unrelated but interesting sidenote: Waterblight actually slows both stamina use AND stamina regen, at least in past games (don't remember if it still does in world), though it slows regen more than it slows expenditure, making it a net loss overall still. Iceblight similarly sped up both stamina regen and stamina use.
@auraleedivinus5 жыл бұрын
If you view it in a technical standpoint, DJ really doesn’t increase the rate in which you’ll recover stamina faster in the same vein as SS (made some tests on my own earlier), which is what I’m pointing out, although you did mention some good points in your statement. Waterblight in MHW, as you mentioned, slows down stamina regeneration, but I don’t think it will have any effect on your stamina consumption. Conversely, Iceblight increases your stamina consumption, but it will have no effect on stamina regeneration. These two blights (along with Bleed effect) are probably the most annoying status effects you’ll ever get, and I wish Capcom emphasized on these more than Fireblight imho.

Very nice video, with lots of high quality information. HOWEVER (yeah i'm code matching) i think most people here care about dps but aren't speedrunners, so if you could, while talking about how to do MAX DEEPS, include advice about the context in which most of us are (trying to play optimal in multiplayer). Anyways that's my idea, take it or leave it, thanks for reading.
@EntropyUnleashed5 жыл бұрын
Thankfully nothing about bow sets actually changes outside the context of speedrunning. For bow, optimal speedrun and optimal DPS in normal play are more or less identical. Just check your stamina bar occasionally, and weave in the stamina-positive combos that were mentioned in this video to maintain DPS uptime. There aren't any silly gimmicks (like heroics...) that change things up or make things difficult. The only thing that really changes between speedrunning and normal play is that speedrunning relies on "scripts"; using specific combos in specific orders to maximize damage and chain CCs, while avoiding monster attacks flawlessly with minimal dodging.
@Kavriel5 жыл бұрын
@@EntropyUnleashed Well, that's not completely true. In a multi hunt monsters run away or hit other players. You also lose your power coatings unless you craft more. As you mentioned, you don't cc chain most of the time so you actually have to dodge attacks and play, rather than play out your script well. All of these things can influence dps. I personally like to run Evade extender, since it allows me to move while staying offensive, and dodge attacks. Don't get me wrong, 80 or 90 percent of the advice for optimal play for speedrun is valid for the context I'm talking about, but builds that incorporate health boost or evasion skills can be more enjoyable and perhaps even better in terms of dps in a practical way. I know this isn't the focus of this channel though and I'm not hating, just suggesting.

OK, before anything else - that's a well executet and informative video. ^^ But honestly it's more masters theory crafting than actual guidance. =P I mean throwing in a Dash+Voucher on every hunt is something you CAN do, but nothing I'd ever consider even in the slightest. Against the big beaters sure thing. But definitely not against your avarage TEDdy! x'D I'd go for Con5 Surge0 any day on farming builds. Considering Luna2: It's honestly not that bad. Going with B-Helm and Boots you get really effective defensive skills that also come with the additional stamina. That's the very first thing I recommend Bow players struggling with Ts/ATs. It's very usefull. And one more thing: In any build you're running Con2, Con3 is for free since The stamina Charm is the only medium ability carm that's interesting for the bow and upgrades to Level3. =P

@@JinJinxandTuna Yeah sure thing, no doubt about that one. And while true for you and me it's not for the wast majority of the player base. (Like when you say 'You only get Luna2 once a hunt' - Hell, no! If you need to drink a single potion you have it back. =P) It's no big deal, and sure if you want to learn and understand a weapon it's cool to see how mastery looks like, but I sometimes feel these guides loose a bit of touch to the HR70 reality of people in need of some guide. =)
