Agreed. When it comes to live performances, his voice is stable and his pitch rarely misses. I've always thought of him as underpinning the melody, but I'm loving how he's exploring ad libs, harmonies and runs more in this album.

Absolutely agree with how intimidating it can be for Korean artists to be singing/ performing with BTS and in front of Army. I saw a clip of Wendy singing live 'I Have Nothing' by Whitney Houston. The girl has some serious pipes. Any Whitney song is very difficult so Wendy taking it on is terrific. Glad that Heart On The Window is charting well. Love it!

As a Wendy stan, I can confirm that this is not her best performance. Nerves definitely got the best of her here. For context, Wendy has done a musical last year and she was phenomenal. Loved the armys for being so supportive and sending her love. 🩵

loved this collab so much, been on replay since the song dropped. as for wendy being off tune, it sounds a lot worse on the stream for some reason. all of the fancams ive watched sound soooo much better and def shows she wasn't as off tune as it sounds. like everyone said, she was super nervous. even if she wasn't nervous, singers go off tune sometimes, at least they ain't lipsycing. and as a fan of wendy for many years now, i know what nerves do to her voice. she said herself when she's nervous it affects her voice as she tenses up and can't relax her vocal cords. but even then, she still sounded so amazing. they both did. i hope this collab starts to revert male-female idol interactions back to what it once was. i mean look at that social distancing. ive never seen a duet performed where the singers were that far apart. whether it was to avoid rumours or to emulate the meaning of the song.... a step or two towards each other wouldn't hurt

Thank you for this session, Jino! I love their duet and this is another side to Jin's vocals - with BTS we seldom see his ad libs live so marvelous to see the harmonies and ad libs live, not just kept in the backing track. Lol, yes, ARMY has been having a good time playing with that social distancing. I think the reserve comes from both sides. It was different with Hobi and Becky G because Becky is not a restrained Korean, she is a bubbly Latina and will have no truck with social distancing. I'd love to see her have a duet with Jin, she'll just go "c'mere big guy" and hug him! Also, I think Jin was being careful - remember when he appeared in Youngji's show and he slapped her hand in halli galli - there were a few salty remarks from ARMY and he felt compelled to explain that he wasn't holding her hand, he was slapping it in the game. The fan wielding the third fancam is of the same ilk, lol. The only girl that BTS boys hugged voluntarily is Halsey and they were careful even with her. Btw, I think they won an award for this song already. The article said it was the second time for Jin and first for Wendy.

I think the social distancing or them being awkward with female singers also comes from the very toxic shipping culture in kpop. As they are becoming older, all members have started to feel more free to collab with women, but it's also a lot of pressure. I think most international fans are kind of chill when it comes to this but knetz are another story... So imagine this added to the fact that Jin is a very shy person (he even wrote a song about not being able to reach out to someone because of his shyness) and it gives you what people called virginal. And I also don't think he is just shy, he is also very anxious despite what he shows. There was a bangtan behind the scene of him at a movie premiere and he was sweating and his friend actor had to reassure him, so it goes beyond just being awkward. So to me, as an army, I am already super proud of him being brave enough to ask for a female collab, with a Korean idol from another group, and invite her on stage in front of Army who are indeed sometimes scary.

@@terrimay6408 I think the past few years, army has been loving and supporting collabs with women. Even asking for more and hyping it. Heart on the window is already a fan favorite. IU is well loved in the fandom, same for Hasley, Becky G or Megan Thee Stalion. But we can't also completely erase the toxicity that goes with kpop and I am sure it makes idols really anxious to know any random moment could create rumors, especially in this case between two idols from 2 differnt groups. Considering all of this + the fact that both of them are shy and extra polite, I think they did well lol.

RM esp and Yoongi have been quite able to sing duets without awkwardness for years & without threats from the still highly immature SK girl audiences. As others stated the toxic shipping culture, the whole premise of 'virginal' idols or at the least unattached/ uncoupled idols are the only acceptable kind in this parasocially sick societal subgroup. Thankfully BTS is slowly leading the way in breaking down some of the stereotypes (ex JK & JM).

I am so proud of ARMY, because I have seen NO comments about her being off tune, let alone anything nasty. I think we all give her a pass, because we understand that she was nervous. The space between them makes sense with what I understand to be the theme of the song, which is I can't tell you I love you so I leave you a heart on the window. Jin is extremely shy (he also said he finds it hard to approach people), too, but I do think the distance was set because of the song. Having said that, the poor woman needed Jin to help her relax a bit. The surprise entrance probably made that hard for him to do, too. As you said, Jino, she is a beautiful singer...and that was clear to everyone, I think...nerves just got her a bit.. (I think Jin was "led" off a bit at one point, but he really did pretty well singing on tune with someone who was a little off sometimes.)

I haven't read reference of MV "The Astronaut" and it's references from the film "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" but that's what I thought of the first time I saw it. ET movie has flying bicycles, friendship with alien, story of hope and mystery. The clothing Jin wears and the houses are the same time period. I always associate the head tilt to ET . And did you notice Jin's finger pointed 3:39 of the MV. Classic ET. There are more clues. Look for them but the connection is so obvious to me. Also, don't forget about the population of people who live in rural America. They do still hop in back of a pickup truck. Loved this reaction of yours. So honest and funny yet respectful. We love Jin.

Jin has to maintain social distancing if you may call it that way because he is a gentleman, who wants to protect Wendy from toxic KPop fans, including the toxic fans in the ARMY. Wendy is a KPop artist, not a western artist. And, KPop fans could be really toxic. Unlike Suga and V with IU because she is already engaged so toxic kpop fans won't mind. But, for Wendy who is single and so pretty might be attacked with ugly comment. You are right about RM in his Wildflower, I had the same observation. RM had the same consideration when he collaborated with that girl with an outstanding voice in Wildflower. I really like that artists. As RM's tendency to lose his breath while doing hardcore rapping, he actually admitted that he has gone a medical nasal surgery not for a nose job but to remove a birth defect nasal problem or a sort of a nasal blockade which had been giving him difficulty in breathing even as a kid. From time to time, the side effect gets in the way. Jin is allergic to garlic and potato, would believe that? He said it in one of his Eat Jin episodes. Can you believe that JK, V and Jimin had a terrible asthma when they were very young? And, this is why they has to follow strict diet and bdot regimen. I don't know if they have overcome their Asthma over the years. And, Jimin does not eat mangoes perhaps he is allergic to it but has not admited it. Suga had OCD and depression at a young age. Only Jhope who has no reported allergies or health problem.

@@sdseokjinnie It was Jin who admitted such fact on one of his Eat Jin episodes. He even said it might sound ironic but it is sad fact on him as a Korean. You will notice that among the group Jin's preference in food is beef steak, chicken and sushi. In Eat Jin Vlogs, he would often seen eating steamed food rather than the flavorful food that the other members loves to do. You will notice also that whenever he cooks, Jin does not use garlic. Have you seen him chopping garlic? When he cooked for RM and V for their hot breakfast at their mountain recking Vlog. Jin did not use any garlic in those stuff. If you follow Jin's in his Eat Jin videos and their Bon Voyage videos, you will know and notice this little simple stuff about him. I just don't if overtime he was cured of his allergies because, at this period, there seemed to be an incurable desease and allergies are curable nowadays. Even the restaurants that Jin co-owned with his elder brother, it is a Japanese Restaurant which serve mainly steamed meat (pork or beef) and vegies.
