14:16 "My father's dream for me will finally come true." the conscious choice of words here only supports the idea that, originally, it was never truly Tenzin's dream. The guilt and shame that we see in this episode are the result of all the pressure Aang put on him. I'm not blaming Aang and saying he's a bad father; it's just interesting to see that, in his own way, Tenzin did suffer because of his father's flaws. Compared to Bumi, he's on the other end of the spectrum, and yet they both feel the same. Man, I appreciate the writing in this show so much

Daddy Tenzin's relationship with korra is always so wholesome. Rewatching the series with you guys makes me realize how much growth korra experienced through every major adversity. Next episode vamos!!!

Found it hilariously ironic that Unalaq, the guy with all the spiritual know-how, resorted to physical brute force with the Northern portal. Goes to show just how desperate he was at that point. I honestly felt bad for Tenzin this episode when it turned out he was not destined to guide Korra into the spirit world. I mean, majority of his life, this was basically what was expected of him as the son of Avatar Aang and the next Master airbender after him. He trained, studied, and prepared himself for this very moment and yet, it was all for nothing. Feeling like a failure and not being able to live up to the expectations placed on you is not a great feeling....

Tenzin is also trying to do this for his dad...his dad's efforts are there too. Really, in a way, he set Jinora up very well, since she follows Tenzin's Airbender tutelage the closest. Jinora has her own latent connection, but it's probably well enhanced by her capacity for Airbender culture and practice. I would say Tenzin's intense practice and study aren't a waste, but there is simply an element he lacks. The ATLA world teaches that all people have the possibility to tap into spiritual energy, since all people have those chakras and pathways that connect to the universe. It may be Tenzin's meditations have always been blocked. You can attempt to meditate for hours or "days" whatever intervals or breaks that implies, but how inward you truly go and how in touch with your body's chakras you are depends on your state of mind and everything your mind brings with it. Tenzin has a bit of an arc going here, and it's crazy because, he's no spring chicken, lol. So, his humility and realizations might help him reach spiritual awakening one day.

There's a couple of comments about Airbending Gurus in the Kyoshi-novels that I think kind of relate to Tenzin's issue with entering the spirit-world (though it has been a while since I read them so I might be misremembering some things) 1. Most of the Gurus were very stuck in their ways - insisting that only through meditation could a person achieve enlightenment for example. The one Guru who questioned why the same couldn't be done through life experience (a guy by the name of Laghima) was basically considered an outcast. 2. A lot of said Gurus were apparently not able to enter the spirit-world - because they thought everything had to have a certain order (leading back to 1.) while the spirit-world is actually very chaotic. I don't think Tenzin is quite as stuck to his way (or order-obsessed) as the Gurus of old, but it does always take him a while to adjust - and the next time something happens he just tends to revert back to square one

Tenzin may be Aang’s heartbeat, living his life for his father’s vision, but to me Jinora is Aang’s spirit. She is the embodiment of what an airbending philosophy is. Quiet but not timid. Wise but not arrogant. Since season 1, the short glimpses we saw, she’s seen reading books seeking knowledge, giving advices to korra when she trynna do the spinning gates and shows empathy towards others like how she hugs Tenzin when Korra lashes out at him. Though she dnt stands out, if we pay enough attention these qualities gets clearer. Korra is the Avatar’s reincarnation. But Jinora is ATLA Aang’s reincarnation. The same 10yo kid we feel in love with who always stand firms in his beliefs even when the world bends in another direction. The kid who always put others first and try to help them. The kid who never asked for anything back. The kid who lost everything but gives everything❤

Hey Avatar Meesh and Avatar Dee "Happy Friday". I hope you two day is going well. Tenzin not being able to get in touch with the spirits was indeed shocking. Bumi is so wrong for rubbing it in. I feel bad for Mako that no one believes him and Varrick ends up framing him. But anyway I hope you two have a wonderful day. Stay safe, take care and stay amazing.

In all honesty you guys if Tenzin hadn’t pressured himself to be so much like Aang and been more of himself he could’ve tapped into his true potential as an AirBender and become a better AirBender then his father Aang was without being The Avatar.

4:50 honestly I’ve been thinking about scenes like this one for awhile 💀 did Bolin sign his life away or some random stuff? Cause how is Varrick getting away with this- Bolin is only 17 at this point so a minor I dunno if they have like that kind of minor actor stuff in the avatar verse but this seems just uh wrong loll
