It is difficult to find a real martial artist. I'm glad one is teaching and putting these katas on KZbin. Thank you.

Great video, and exactly how I remember the kata. Just like all the karate books and videos I have from the 60s up until the 80s. getting back into karate after nearly 20 years and videos like this are really helping to bring it all back.

Solid tutorials, sir, thank you. I'd been doing Shito-Ryu for a good long while up until this past summer when a friend of mine began teaching me Shotokan katas. It's been very neat becoming kind of multi-lingual in Karate after knowing just the one style since I was a kid.

I find your movies the ones of the best of a kind in the world. Unlike many others you use original japanese terminology. Your technique is pure, classical, free from all those modern variations. It can be considered a benchmark in any shotokan dojo. Thanks a lot for an opportunity to refine my katas. OSS!

Love all your detailed videos. Thank you for making them available!! I have referenced them often over the past five years of training. While there are slight variations within our style I have learned enough essential details from them to put me ahead of where I could possibly be without their aide. Even did Tobi Kyu on a number of occasions. All of which I really do give a lot of credit to these instructional videos for. I most recently reviewed Jion and some of the others for my Shodan test. I passed, so thank you again! I wish to know if you have these on available on DVD to purchase? They truly are pure gold and I'd love to have a hard copy to keep in case KZbin ever goes away or anything. Osu!

@victoriachristie70265 жыл бұрын
As someone who has learned 3 different ways for most of my katas, (3 different senseis), as long as you can justify what you are doing (aka bunkai), you are not incorrect, aslong as the roots and movements of the kata remain. for example: compare Ms. Angelica Purcell's kata tutorial videos to these. they each know what they are doing (Ms. Angelica was my original Sensei), but they have slightly different styles and interpretations of the katas.
