I think leg kicks only really work to test pain threshold. MMA guru has a theory that leg kicks don’t do anything if you’re mentally strong enough to just walk through them and never switch stance to compensate. Max did it against Justin last fight. Nate Diaz was really good at it too. It seems to only be used to make a faster fighter feel apprehensive about quicker lateral movements/escapes, or just used as an extended jab against fighters using a boxing shell; but if they can just fight through basically a bone bruised calf, it’s nullified. Except for that kick Jon jones does, that shit is deadly. It’s the most annoying part of mainstream commentators imo. They get obsessed with the damage a leg kick does, when really it’s not doing much to effect the fight (depending on who it is getting kicked). Also I’ve never trained fighting I’m 100% sure my leg would get compound fractured by 1 kick lol
