Facts to ponder upon, Guyana🇬🇾 was one of four original states (Jamaica🇯🇲, Barbados🇧🇧 and Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹) that founded Caricom 1st Aug.1973 which was established by the English speaking parts of the Caribbean by signing the Treaty Chaguaramas. Belize 🇧🇿 (British Honduras) being English speaking as well joined 1st May 1974 and Suriname 🇸🇷 joined 4th July 1995...Caricom was preceded by CARIFTA May 1st 1968 to May 1st 1974(Caribbean Free Trade Association) these were all English speaking countries which was part of the Commonwealth (British Colonies).

Slight correction....it was CARIFTA first and then it transitioned to CARICOM. In fact, that's how the CARIFTA GAMES came about as a symbol of when they moved on from CARIFTA to CARICOM. The headquarters for CARICOM is in Guyana as well..

@@RawleToney1 but no one seemed to remember the federation, headed by people like Norman manley, Eric williams, Eric Gary of grenada, grantley Adams of Barbados and I am not sure if Guyana was apart of the federation but I know the premiere Chaddi Jaggan was deeply involved in those days. Carrifester was heavily influenced by Michael Manley because he tried to rekindle what was done by his father 10 15 years before.

This is so true !!! You could not explain this more better....Jamaican🇯🇲 slaves stolen from Ghana were first brought to Surinam🇸🇷 by the British but the dutch and the British slave owners could not work together for some reason and the brithish then took big parts of the slaves first brought to Surinam coming from Ghana and some from Nigeria to Jamaica and left another part in Suriname🇸🇷 with the dutch slave owners separating us even more from eachother . A lot of Jamaican words are still the same as Surinam words....they call the Surinam🇸🇷 language the Creole broken English with lots of Ghanaian and Nigirian words in it with few dutch words. Plus we speak Dutch also even in the Surinam Jungle....for example....in Jamaica they would say..( mi a gu NYAM) for i am going to eat..in Suriname we would say..(mi o go nyan) or (Faya Bun Dem ) fire burns them witch in Surinamese is ( Faya Brun Den) and lots more...and dont let me start about the food similarities, culture and ofcourse the people because we are just familie...people should visit Surinam ,they will be surprised about this hidden part of the Caribbean....in some parts its like you're in Africa because of the slaves that flee in to the rainforest during slavery and kept their African ways and culture etc other parts look like you're in India, or also Indonesië, plus dont forget the native Americans, chinees and few white poeple too..a lot are still pure and also the mixes of all those races combine ,imagine the foods from all those cultures ...you have like 6 or 7 cultures there,.and if you want to see beauty of A rainforest, Surinam is the place to be .anyway,Yes Surinam 🇸🇷 is part of the Caribbean 🇸🇷🇸🇷 nice video 👌

And still the biggest part was stolen by fors of wapens ! And even if that small part was sold, that doesnt mean they were sold to be enslaved by the whites, raped, and killed for 400 years and counting...if someone gives his child to someone else to take care of the child because she cant take care of it that doesnt mean the person who adopt the child should abuse. Rape and kill it if it doesnt want to do what they want ...so keep your point ,and ill stick to mine !! Fun fact: The longest river in Guyana is the Essequibo River, stretching approximately 1,010 kilometers (628 miles) across the country. Originating in the Acarai Mountains near the Brazil-Guyana border, the Essequibo River flows through diverse landscapes, including rainforests and savannas, before reaching the Atlantic Ocean. Its extensive basin plays a crucial role in supporting biodiversity and sustaining various ecosystems in Guyana. The river holds cultural significance, influencing settlements and activities along its course, making it a vital element in the geographical and cultural tapestry of the region.

I think carocom is an excellent pathway for identification of part of the caribbean. Belize sits at the caribbean basin so they are a given plus the cultural ties it has always had thru colonization thru Britain makes them a shoe in. So is Surnam and Guyana. Both Belize and Guyanas original name started as BRITISH and they did reap the benefits of the natural resources of these colonies back then. Belize...Guyana deserves there right places as part of the caribbean regardless of each geographical location.

Suriname, Surinam Confusion still sometimes arises concerning the name of this small South American country. The Encarta World English Dictionary, for instance, calls it Suriname under its main entry but labels it Surinam on a map elsewhere in the same volume. The spelling Surinam can now safely be regarded as historic and Suriname as the preferred modern spelling. The Suriname River and Suriname toad also take the modern spelling.

gale-row4-ducat it seems the younger generation does not know the history of the interaction between those islands in the Western Caribbean and even other Central American and South American country, I grew up listening to my mother's telling me story after story of people who live in Jamaica that lived in Cuba and people who went to Cuba and other countries so it just seemed like it was just a natural thing didn't know that it seems different to people nowadays. They are prominent people in Jamaican History who are of Cuban parentage are ancestry even such famous people like Mortimore Planner and Rita Marley and other people that I've heard their name just cannot bring them to mine at the moment. The great Haiti an revolutionary was a man taken from Ghana to Jamaica as a slave and escaped to Haiti where he helped to inspire the Haitian revolution his name was duty bookman. I guess because of the political and economical atmosphere of today is what prevent this from happening in 1960 when the country started to get independent Jamaica was wealthier than the other Island and the prime Minister said that he did not want to be a part of any Caribbean governmental organization because the island would be flooded with people from the other Island now it's in the reverse. One thing used to amaze I when I first started interacting with people born in Africa I was amazed to see the number of language people would speak some people speak as much as 7 8 9 10 languages the language of the neighbor and tribes and also of the neighboring colonized country with a French Portuguese Spanish or whatever we in the Caribbean especially the English speaking Caribbean seem only for the most part to speak one language I noticed the Haitian people in Haiti can speak French and Spanish maybe because they are bothering a spanish-speaking country.

However, what is also quite evident in the Caribbean nations and it's to do with the history of the Caribbean countries, is that there's a lot of racial tensions amongst the people, because of how multicultural the countries are. We like to brag about how united we are, but when you closely inspect it, you realize that we're not, and because of that, we cannot work together as a united folk. I think it's important that we be truly united in order to proceed for a bright, better future for our nations on all fields. Belize, Guyana, and Suriname are part of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) organisation. The Secretariat of the Caribbean Community organisation is based in Georgetown, Guyana. Before the 18th century South America was consider as the Windward Islands and southward. Why would Trinidad and Tobago be considered as "North American" when Trinidad is only 8 miles off the coast of Venezuela. Vs. about over a 1600 miles from Miami? Alternately when France was losing dominance in the region (to the British) they came up with the term "Latin America" with the aim to expressly exclude the UK. France wanted it unite the Spanish, Netherland (Dutch), Portuguese, and French territories against the British forces. Hence why the Caribbean countries isn't a part of Latin America to this day.

All countries around the Caribbean basin is Caribbean including Venezuela, which is part of Guyana region of South America, which makes the State of Guyana part of the Caribbean region. Have you been to guyana? If you have, you would now that it is actually a Caribbean nation with Caribbean people, located in South America. So yes, a South American country but Caribbean nation❤

@@brandonjeeboo 'Bring that crap to you?' Calm down and have a cup of tea🤣 Yes I said I know it's a country situated in South America, but culturally it is that of many of its island neighbours. Yes I was born there and I've been 37 times, have family there and everyone I know, consider themselves Caribbean people. Geography is not the only factor that defines a people. It's culture, genetics, language and dialect, as well as other factors. It has always historically been a part of the British West indies unfer UK rule, when it was called British Guiana.I am a Caribbean person born on the South American mainland. You may not be and that's fine but I'm a proud Guyanese person who is proud to be considered a Caribbean person as I love my Caribbean people. Bye, bye and calm down. Respect 🙏🏾👊🏾

@@trapmuzik6708 that's right, and I don't like when other Caribbean people try to put these people down they have been suffering for over 200 years under the brutal colonial Injustice and it's time for us to come together roll up our sleeve and help these people up off the ground instead of rubbing mud in their face they are our people.

It's extremely interesting that while I observe that this video was listed a week ago the visuals do not reflect current conditions. Particularly disturbing is that while Guyana has had a new government more than 2 years ago the politicians shown do not represent any of the main leaders in it. Another aspect that has been completely ignored is that all three countries have significant East Indian populations, a result of the indentured system that eventually succeeded Emancipation. Don't the producers of this video know these facts? If not, then it's either their research has been shoddy at best or biased to show something other than reality to the rest of the world. The question then becomes: WHY? What is.real agenda here?

@Ahmed Ali, the producer of the video did not mentioned the racial aspects of Guyana, Suriname and TT because they are not from the South Caribbean. You are correct, Racial politics is a prominent part of these 3 countries.
