I'm 19 years old and because of how unnecessarily advanced phones are now, I've deeply considered switching to this phone in particular. My mom picks on me for wanting a phone like this lol but I think it's worth a shot, given that I've been addicted to my phones since I was around 11.

I can attest; the games on this phone are not very fun, and the internet browser is clunky. So unless you're addicted to talking or texting, you probably won't spend too much time using this phone. - Ryan

Sadly, if you read Amazon reviews, you discover calling out from this phone is a multi-step process.. which can be horrible for the elderly.

Are you sure that we're talking about the same iteration of this phone? With our Jitterbug Flip2, we could click on the "Amazon Alexa" button and then speak either the name of a contact or entire phone number to make a call.

Yes this multi step process is what we are dealing with. My MIL cannot understand you have to go through 5 or more steps pressing ok after each step just to call someone!! 😡😡

@@Theseniorlist What if the senior doesn’t have Alexa, my MIL doesn’t even have the internet. We switched to this phone and carrier because Verizon was ending their 3G network and all the flip phones on it.

I wish they would quit advertising for seniors my mother keeps wanting this and from all the horrible reviews I just can't do it. She can get turned around using the TV remote - a phone that requires 5 steps to make a call is not peace of mind for anyone with an elderly parent.

The Jitterbug 1 was fine. I could not replace it so I bought a Jitterbug 2 and it's been a disaster for my mother to learn to use. Everyday she does something (I can't pin point what) to throw it off line and we cannot reach her. It's beyond annoying. It's too complicated for a 93 year old with memory issues! The company tried to find an old version in their system and said they no longer had them. They suggested Alexa. I just laughed and thanked them, but there is no way we can add another layer of tech to this. Ugh!!!!!!!

From the main menu, how do you delete message indicators from the top line: Phone. Nothing, absolutely nothing, makes these numbers go away. Should have a DELETE key!

Does any know how I can get my name to show up when I call someone else. All that shows up know is cell phone caller. I want my name to show up so people know who is calling. Please keep in mind that not everyone has or wants a cell phone. Landline phones with caller ID do not show my name when trying to call someone. This seems to be a MAJOR flaw with this phone!

Signal strength is good. Lively piggybacks off of Verizon's network, and we had no issues; however, if you live in a rural area, you'll want to check on their website if they have coverage near you.

Hi Jody- I was able to locate these directions from the BestBuy site- hope this helps! 1. From the main menu scroll to "Contacts" and press "Ok" 2. Use the Up and Down arrow keys to scroll to the Contact in need of deletion and Press "Ok" 3. Use the arrow to scroll and highlight "Edit Contact" and press "Ok" 4. When in the editing mode there is a menu option titled "Delete This Contact" 5. Use the down arrow key to highlight this menu option and press "Ok" 6. "Are you sure you want to delete this contact?" will appear on the screen with the option to "Delete Contact" or "Cancel" 7. To delete- press "Ok"

@@Theseniorlist Ah thank you my friend. My mum is 70 years old and doesn't like flat glass phones, she had this Samsung clamshell for 13 years, loved it, but age got to it. I bought her a Doro 611 clamshell which she likes and has used for 4 years, but it doesn't record video. She is not after anything spectacular, just something to record things she sees on it, so it should be fine and despite the lacklustre camera, when compared to a Doro 611 it will be an upgrade :) Many thanks for your time doing this for people, as you can see from replies, it is valuable to many.

To turn the phone on, you can hold down the call button for a couple of seconds. To make a call, you start dialing the numbers and then press the call button.

How could you report this? I've personally experienced the hell when you know you're blind father can't make calls anymore on his 2 week old flip phone. Alexa just stopped asking lively to make a call for my father. Yes. It's an awkward 3 way between user, Alexa, and lively. Just read some actual user reviews, all who like me got this for their impaired parent, and what I'm reading is horrible. I do blame myself for paying attention to reviews like this instead of deep diving for the real stuff. Sleep well Sir.
