Primus pump has a filter on the little hose as well. Look for it in the bottle as it tend to come off like the hose.

It’s interesting I’ve recently seen people faulting the Optimus pump for not having a tank side butane shutoff. This means the contents of the hose are wasted. In gas feed mode that’s not much but it’d be more in liquid mode. I have a question for you... what I’ve always done is wait for the pump to be attached to the hose before pumping. It seems to solve the squirting fuel problem for me.

a work round for msr and large canister I carry a trowel in my kit just dig a hole to set canister 1/2 to 2/3 under ground this will add stability to the stove

Okay Jiujitsu, you own and have used the Primus, MSR Universal, and Optimus stoves. My question is, if you have all three setting on the table and you're heading out on a two/three night backpacker, which one do you grab and shove in your pack??

I heard the Optimus fuel line is soft so when it's full, and you burn a little and you put it in off it still sips fuel out of the can because it sink in fuel. Is this true? Can you put the can upside down to take care of this?

Couldn't you pressurize the bottle for a Primus AFTER you screw it in? That way you wouldn't squirt fuel out?

I have this stove. I fucking love it!!!!!! But i didnt always lol. I got it for xmas last year and after about 2 months, the pump took at shit. I called Optimus and told them about my pump, i sent it back to them and they emailed me with the details regarding my pump and then they sent me another brand new pump and it has worked perfectly since then. Total time from when i mailed it till i received my new pump was 2 weeks so i gotta say it was pretty fast to.

JIUJITSU2000 Oh thats lucky... My pump wasnt pumping any air into the bottle. I literally could pump it 100 times (i actually counted) and it was no difference than 20 pumps.. I took apart the bottom end of the pump to check the spring but there wasnt anything wrong.

Sir, a question - I really like the optimus pump over my plastic primus ergopump. If i use the optimus pump on my primus omnifuel, I will have two on/off valves next to each other which would be pointless. Will the optimus fuel line fit into the side of the primus omnifuel? This would make the optimus pump compatible with the primus omnifuel. Cheers

1 thing bout the Polaris I don't like is the way the valve stem sticks out this is a HIGH POTENTIAL for breakage in the field aka in the pack
