You can spawn the bosses without a boat, I’ve done it before flying around as a dragon. The reason why people do this as when the update released, the discord patch notes said specifically “set sail, fly or swim” or something very similar to find the sea events. So if I’m wrong the devs lied.

The legacy pose actually does show where it is after a while I’m pretty sure. Every time we couldn’t find one after like 5-10 minutes I saw it on my pose and I flew to it.
