I am lucky enough to know JJ personally. We grew up on the dirt roads of a small community west of Jacksonville called Maxville. it is an honor as a USMC Vet to call him a dear friend. And I have always supported him. Long live the summer days of fishing on Lake 'Loosie

I went to Jacksonville and Gainesville for the first time last week, and made a point to drive to Lochloosa. I found a dirt road off of Hwy 301 on the south side of the lake, which took me to a scene that perfectly resembled this song. I pulled this video up while I sat on the bank, and listened and enjoyed. The wildlife was amazing and a bald eagle even flew over. Thank you JJ!

Holy mother of all that is holy.... this is life changing music. I am hopeful now that real music isn't dead. My Lochloosa is a little creek in Northern AZ where I take my kids and everything becomes right with the world, cares melt away, my soul becomes cleansed and it's the only place where life makes sense. Thank you, thank you so much for this

i was sitting around a table with some friends at a place in Lake Worth, FLA. The evening jam session after group all day. Rehab. A friend put this on, no one was really paying attention, we were just chillin, and the guitar solo came up and I said "who the fuck is this?" "JJ Grey and Mfro," she replied. Been listening to it ever since, rehab didn't stick, but Lochloosa still jams almost on the daily.

Tammy, I cover you in prayer. Yes, I can relate. My daughter (27) suddenly passed away minutes after our morning phone call in Nov 2012. Music is my therapy also. You never get over it, but the grief does get a bit lighter when you learn that letting go doesn't mean losing him, it means loving yourself more.

@@joshua7426 Real Men dont cry? You must not have been through much. If you cant be moved to tears your emotions aren't "Real" or you've "Grown up" to be A Real insensitive man. Maybe there is hope. Maybe not. But i know some Real Men who have shown tears of Joy and Gladness and those who have wept bitterly over severe loss of their friends family and cheeseburgers. They were excellent chese burgers. Anyway.. Someone tolja wrong bruh.

I love this song so much and I don't even listen to this type of music that much. I happened to hear it on NPR a few years back and it just stuck with me. It just has so much passion and soul. I love his speech before this song. He seems like such a real, down to earth guy. "I don't go there to escape reality, I go there to GET to reality."

His storytelling wraps you in a warm blanket out of the dryer and doesn't let you go. This song is grandmas apple pie on a beautiful summer evening sitting out side in the rocking chair listening to the birds sing. Doesn't get much better than this. I hope everyone finds their own Lochloosa during all this craziness in the world.

Crista Forest he is the best all around in everyway. Family man etc. I had the opportunity to be 10' from him at concert in savannah ga. He could be #1 on music charts a Hollywood legend , but a simple man he is... a truly good man with truly awesome music. Most awesome thing ..said he felt safe in savannah so he had his daughter sing with him the song he wrote for her ! I am at a loss for words ! AWESOME, BEAUTIFUL, HIS MUSIC TAKES ME TO A PLACE I CAN NOT DEFINE

Said he has always loved Savannah so he brought his daughter with him and OMG she came out on stage with him as he sung to her Sweetest Thing ? (Believe thats the name of it ) however he wrote that song to her. Tears tears . Just incredible. No song will ever outbeat Lochlosa though!
