If you needed any further clue as to who the next Lakers coach is going to be, look no further than reports on what JJ Redick is now up to. No reason to put together a coaching staff if you aren't going to be, you know, coaching.
Anthony reacts to that, then offers up what he's hearing, and wants to know what you think now that this seems imminent.
From there, he takes questions from all three of our mailbags: iTunes, KZbin and Twitter.

Borrego is a pretty terrible offensive coach. Cassel and Dudley are player development guys. Get ready for disappointment. If you can't get any quality assistant coaches you should hire someone like adelman who is already a high level offensive coordinator and has connections around the league.

Why would Adleman or any top assistant leave that Job to come to the Lakers.

Im starting to warm up on the idea of JJ being a coach. At least he knows his Xs and Os. Just need the right staff to put it all together. He has Bron’s trust. Not sure with AD tho as he left him out in the awards voting

Once JJ is officially the Lakers coach, he won't be able to speak openly about players on other teams. I think the media thing for him is done once the finals ends.

Who is the obvious great coaching candidate that's out there? We all know they want Ty Lue but he isn't coming. 1999 Phil Jackson isn't sitting out there to be hired by someone.

@@maxk4322 There not being a clearly great candidate to onlookers who don't have the ability to assess NBA assistant coaches; doesn't mean the Lakers should hire someone without experience - it's their job to find the gem from the pool that is most proven to produce a gem - the assistant pool. Hiring JJ for your reason is like drafting a player from a Juco in this draft because it's seen as a bad draft.

@@deesteven I don't believe that having coaching experience is a prerequisite to being a successful head coach in the league. JJ is clearly a very bright guy, understands modern basketball concepts, and played for like 15 years. He understands X&Os and analytics. He doesn't strike me as someone with a pushover personality. If the Lakers (or any other team) believe he's the best candidate to coach their team, they should hire them.

@@deesteven Your analogy is comparing JJ with a player coming out of Juco, I would compare him with a player coming out of high school. Can you think of any great prospects who went from HS to the NBA that had success as a Laker? (:
