Green River Lakes to Dubois to Yellowstone, Wyoming

After dropping Tina off back at the trailhead it was time for an adventure of my own. I wanted to meet up with Everyday Backpacker, another KZbinr and patreon supporter, in Billings so I wanted to camp closer than I was. Fortunately the drive meant I had to go through Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Will I see some wild animals this time around?

Most of the campgrounds along the North Fork of the Shoshone (Hwy 16, west of Cody) are "hard-sided" camping only. There is one, Clearwater (16 miles east of Three Mile), that allows tent camping. I was there in June of 2020. The good sites are park and walk-in 50+ yards. Much quieter and good shade. I'm a dispersed camping guy, and I do not like campgrounds... but sometimes you end up far from legal dispersed camping due to your trip plans.

Where did you start your drive into green river lakes? Did you start from Dubois and if you did, what road do we take. We are going to be in Debois and old like to get to the dispersed camping at green river lakes.

From Dubois I took Union Pass Road. It's a pretty long gravel drive to Green Lakes Road though. Some parts are particularly bad so you will need medium clearance at least. Unfortunately the only alternative is a huge loop around that takes even longer to drive.

Just seat covers. Living in the car you sit in the seats a lot more with lots of getting in and out and sometimes while sweaty. Also it's for hikers that are often sweaty.

@@JayWandersOut Jay, I have to share this. The best $150 I ever invested in a vehicle I did about 6 months ago to my 2020 4runner. Convex (?) Side mirrors. Blind spot is gone ! I never need use rear view or look over shoulder. Before a vehicle leaves my side mirror I can see 2 feet of front of car from peripheral vision. I went with Suma Technologies. There are cheaper ones. This glass is better quality and clearer than OEM.
