Acute Diarrhea | Approach to Causes (ex. Bacteria), Enterotoxic vs Invasive, Watery vs Bloody Diarrhea
Acute diarrhea is diarrhea occurring for less than 2 weeks, and is broadly categorized into Enterotoxic (Non-Inflammatory) and Invasive (Inflammatory) causes. Causes include bacteria, protozoa and viruses. Depending on the cause, we can see either watery diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever or no fever, etc. In this lesson, we look at an approach to the cause of acute diarrhea, including a variety of factors that lead to the cause of acute diarrhea, along with signs and symptoms of diarrhea and causes of enterotoxic and invasive diarrhea.

There is a thing called the B.R.A.T. diet. Bananas, Rice, Apples, Toast. Its a treatment for infants or anyone with diarrhea.

I’ve had diarrhoea since dec and it’s so distressing, it’s got worse always go after eating foods tried bread tried banana tried applesauce it’s always painful 😥 on the left side of lower stomach, it’s watery diarrhoea no fever but symptoms of dehydration been to hospital they haven’t done anything, had bacteria test came back ok, doc gave diarrhoea tablets helped stop it, for a week, but it came back so I’m back to square one, and it’s very distressing as I do not know what the cause is

Doc gave me some antibiotics and IV and told to get poop tested if it doesn’t go away in 2 days. Today’s the first day the diarrhoea is controlled but still getting blood 🩸 mixed with poop.

Well I had diarrhea all the way up until the day of my second shot and I did go see the doctor a couple of days before because I wanted to make sure I was OK she assured me that it’s long as I was at least having a bowel movement that I would be OK And now that I had my 2nd shot on the 15th , I have NOT had a bowel movement. hi. i don't know how to explain this. but my mother is not doing well since 5-6 years. she sometimes experiences gas problem which is very severe. like stomach ache most importantly. Last year she experienced some gas problem in the evening and then when she woke up in the morning she passed stools 6-7 times in an hour or something and it didn’t stop even after taking any medicine we had to rush to the hospital and there also her loose motions were not stopping and she got discharged after 6 days in the hospital . i am really worried because she experiences such things very often and i am really afraid that i dont want to see her in that condition again. Ok i have diarrhea for 7yrs 50-60 x a month mostly 3x a day for 3 days.. my Dr was angry and said people have it 100 x a month . we did all the test and microscopy..he cant find anything 😢 i couldn't get help and i really dont have pain , but fatigue and low iron (not being absorbed) i stopped taking OTC diarhea caps this year money issues.. @@sasageyoo8550 Yeah, i'm doing better now. My best advice is to drink plenty of water and go on the BRAT(bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast) diet. You can also drink broth and pedialyte.
