My husband was in a car accident and suffers from severe brain trauma… we are currently unaware of what type of aphasia he has but, this helps so much! Everything you describe about anomic aphasia feels accurate for his behavior. Thank you very much. There really isn’t a lot of information to study on the internet. I wish there was more out there!

Hi ,have you had an assessment from a speech & language therapist ( pathologist ) ? .I worked with adults in the 1970's & I know assessments have improved greatly since then .They will then put together a plan to help your husband, yourself & other members of your family & his friends .

@@christinehales4222 yes, I wrote that at the beginning of our journey. We work with a SLP 2 times a week now. Thank you for replying. He has Anomic aphasia with a couple other issues. His speech has improved massively.

After 12 strokes, my aphasia is quite a challenge. I found that even doctors don't really understand the various aspects of this condition. It is very annoying when people speak on my behalf, or keep interrupting (like the little blond girl with the stethoscope.) Stroke victims often get into a bad mood, but, trust me, this comes because of being frustrated by the idiots that surround us.

Love your video, I have paraphasia! I have Hemiplegic migraines and I lost my speech but when I had and TIA I had Global aphasia, people were crying when I was trying to speak and just weird noise were coming from my mouth, also I was very expressive with my eyes because I could see the words in my head, like suotitles and I was closing my eyes to read them

Ma’am I have a question, you couldn’t pronounce correctly right? You’d pronounce something that seems like the word you want to say?? Just like weird sounds?? Because I’m trying to understand what’s going on with ny younger bro. He can speak but not with words, he just makes sounds like pronounced words but not clearly so no one understands him. I’m trying to detect what exactly is wrong with him😔He has had it since he was a baby.

@natashahenry6851 depends on how bad is it, I noticed, in the beginning for example, I change words, fishing with swimming, toy with boy, or I forget words, then I cannot pronounce well some words or even stutter, cannot pronounce the ssshhhhhh, T, everything with my tongue touching the upper part of my mouth. Speak gets really tiring, I just want to close my eyes and sleep, other thing is that when I have to speak I see like subtitles in my head, so I close my eyes and trying to do the connection of those subtitles and my tongue Imagine when you have ice cream, frozen yogurt or something like that and then you cannot speak, that's more or less the feeling plus forgetting or changing words

Wondering what type of treatment you have had. I have a 90-year-old relative with aphasia from dementia. I started working with Micropulse ICES PEMF on the left side of her head and there is already improvement after a few weeks (after 4 years of aphasia) I am not saying that she is healed. But she asked me about 6 questions in a row last night and she hadn't been able to form questions since before 2020. She is on dementia meds but that hadn't been helping. I am amazed by this so far. It took a few weeks to see any change but then the day aide said that she was speaking better. Small steps but noticeable to everyone now.

@wishingb5859 none! I'm taking treatment for my Hemiplegic migraine, the more control are my attacks the less aphasia I have! I guess for your relative is the same, doctors are treating the dementia 🤔🤔🤔

@@atalmeowlaurent1847 The pills hadn't done anything at all for her. Using the PEMF and increasing blood flow to the brain and lowering inflammation in the brain has helped a lot.

Type. By the way, I have difficulty communicating because I had a stroke in Broca’s area, the part of the brain that controls speech. 2/8/2021 but I lived again. (My wife helped me compose this.)

I found it disheartening that you left out dyslexiac aphasia. I was diagnosed with it precious to my strokes awhile ago (2 years ago). How do I fit in your sinenario. I have Broca's aphasia severe. How does it affect me or people like me?

Hey Dr. I was told I have H. pylori in my stool and E. Coli in my urinary tract and they want me to take Levofloxacin but that antibiotic causes liver failure. I never picked it up! I’ve also been having foamy urine for a year now but no protein was found in my urine culture. I bless God for you! What should I do? On Sunday I had burning sensation while urinating a minor blood but that went away on its own yesterday and pain on my right leg under my calf. I’m only 33 years old! What do you suggest I take sir! God bless you Sir!
