Just has type 3 dengue fever 2 weeks ago, on the first four days I had symptoms like headache, dehydration, loss of appetite, migraine behind my eyes, skin rashes, waited too long and on day five I was woken up at 4am by excruciating pain in my upper torso and joint aches all over my body, I profusely sweat overnight through my pyjamas and my bed mattress was soaked, 5 minutes after waking up I threw up an ungodly amount of fluids, that's when I decided to call an ambulance. I arrived at the hospital with severe dehydration at the molecular level (their words), I also had low potassium levels so they hooked me up to fluids, further tests revealed that it was type 3 dengue fever, a type that hadn't been seen where I live in many years, we usually get type 2 here during summer, so the local health authority called me a few days later to inquire about my habits, they are likely looking for the local source of that particular type of dengue before it spreads further.

I still wonder if I might have had this a few years ago. I got SO sick back in 2014. It was July, which is obviously an unusual time to get sick or to get the flu. Plus, I was sure it wasn't the flu because I didn't have any respiratory symptoms whatsoever (no sore throat, cough, or runny/stuffy nose at all) and even though the flu is bad, whatever this was was ten times worse. The malaise and fatigue I felt was just unbelievable. I couldn't even get out of bed, and was literally crawling and dragging myself on the floor when I needed to get to the bathroom. It all started out with just this slight pain behind my eyes, which I just thought was weird. I get headaches sometimes, but this just felt different because they're never specifically just behind my eyes. Then over the next couple of days, I rapidly got worse. I started just feeling so weak and unable to get out of bed, and I'd have fevers coming and going. They got as high as 104 Fahrenheit (40 celsius). I remember just shaking and sweating uncontrollably. My headache got unbearable and painkillers really didn't help. I went to an urgent care clinic and the first thing they found was that I had a low platelet count. The doctor just told me to go home and rest, but to go to the ER if I got any worse. I did end up going to the ER, when my fevers just didn't stop, and I had also started being unable to keep anything down (even water). They found that my liver enzymes were extremely elevated and were surprised that I didn't have jaundice. I got tested for a few different things. They tested for the flu and mono...both of those seemed unlikely since I had no sore throat or other respiratory issues, and they did come back negative. They did think my symptoms sounded like they could be from a mosquito-borne virus, but they only tested me for West Nile and Chikungunya (both came back negative). I honestly hadn't even heard of Dengue Fever at that time. I only learned about it later, after I had recovered but someone told me that the symptoms I had had sounded a lot like Dengue. I was skeptical though, because I hadn't traveled to another country where Dengue and other mosquito-borne illnesses are typically contracted. The only place I had recently been was Disney World in Florida, about six weeks before I got sick. And I do live in the southern United States (Alabama to be exact), where bugs and mosquitos are everywhere, and getting bitten is pretty much just a part of life in the summer. But it definitely is very rare to contract Dengue anywhere in the US, so I don't know. I also didn't ever get a rash, and even though I had malaise and fatigue, I didn't really actually have joint pain, which is a common symptom of Dengue. All the doctors I saw were definitely perplexed and they never even figured out what I had. Thankfully, whatever it was, I did make a full recovery after about a week and a half. It was definitely the most awful illness I've ever experienced in my life, and I hope to never experience anything like it again!

Every single thing you wrote is exactly what I experienced. I was backpacking in Guatemala and abrupty fell sick, it was out of this world...the pain, the fever, I was paralysed in my bed, crawling to the toilet, lost all muscle strength, could barely eat. Throughout the day I would shift between asleep and awake states, not knowing what is reality. At night I would have hypnotic dreams, hallucinating nightmares like I was on drugs. The worst state I've experienced in my life. I am almost positive it is Dengue fever. But I never got tested because I was in a remote village on the pacific coast, 8h away by bus from the nearest hospital. To this day (3 years later) I still don't know what took over my body and made me suffer that way. I survived it without any medical help, no medicine, suffered excruciating pain.....I was afraid to lose my life there. Since then I have had a low count of white blood cells (leukopenia). My immune system weakened and has never recovered.

I‘m from China and got dengue fever in Guangdong province, generally speaking dengue was rare in China but could occur in warm-climate Guangdong with international travels that bring dengue cases in. This year the outbreak is very bad, I heard the local hospitals were packed full with dengue patients these days. I myself had sudden onset of high fever, excruciating pains all over the body, extreme fatigue, couldn't stand up but lie in bed for a week, skin rashes and eye pains.... Today is day 12 and I'm almost fully recovered except skin itchiness that are still lingering on.

I got it visiting CA. I remember a bug bite a day before the monster pain, fever, nausea & vomiting. I remember because the itchy bite was on my face. I think it bit me in my sleep. I thought it was a monster flu. It lasted a month. I wish I had ivermectin.
@GoodCitizen-gm1tlАй бұрын
@@ArnoldZiffle-jw2mv According to the public info, dengue fever was spread by mosquito bites only. I don't know if other bug bites can spread it. It typically lasted a week or two. If it lasted a month in your case, it may not be dengue? ivermectin doesn't help as it's a parasite-killing drug. I agree it's a monster flu, much worse than COVID. I don't wish to get it again, I heard the second infection with dengue fever would be lethal. F mosquitos.

Within the ophthalmic community, this complication is being observed more frequently in recent times. However, only a few isolated case reports have been published (5-13). These reports attribute ocular complications to the transient thrombocytopenia and resulting bleeding diathesis. The course of the eye manifestations has also not been well-described. We report a series of 13 patients who had ophthalmic symptoms after DF or DHF, and describe the course, spectrum of manifestations, and prognosis and treatment of these new and emergent complications.

It's a great channel for a quick revision. Thank you. Ayurveda has medicines which can improve platelet counts in dengue infection. Unfortunately there is no much acceptance for the field. There is also better scope of antioxidants and improving endothelial functions with Ayurveda meds.

Very concise and well-explained! Though it would be even better if you'd include learning materials that you used as a source :) Maybe in the video description?

I had dengue fever about 5 years back. Does that mean I'm likely to enter the critical phase too? Because I just had the sudden onset of dengue fever today. Also, how does periods affect in dengue because my periods are due in next 4-5 days. Please help.

Ok so, I got eaten alive by mosquitos in the Peruvian Andes at about 1800m, biked to the next town to rest, and then vomited two nights later, just once, with chills and fever. I have had diarrhea for weeks due to antibiotics I took for another infection. Last night I smoked a very small amount of cannabis and stood up, felt dizzy, vision going, ears ringing, sat back down and LOST CONSCIOUSNESS in the middle of the park. I'm worried that I have Dengue Shock and that I'm going to die (or the weed was laced??? Been smoking the same batch for weeks no issues, very experienced long time user)
