What Legler said about rivalries at 1:17:58 is facts. Rivalries cannot be manufactured by the media. Real rivalries happen organically, and there aren’t many of them today. I agree with JJ that several conference finals matchups between the Suns and Mavs would be good for the league. Luka vs Booker is a real player rivalry that the media isn’t manufacturing. They genuinely hate each other and it’s always fun to watch those two go at it
@LambSauceWill

@alainlamour5868 if those guys in the East get angry and driven enough, you could have a genuine 4 way rivalry over there which would be awesome. All 4 of those teams have the potential to be in a serious dogfight for the next 5-10 years.

JJ's growth as a broadcaster has been really interesting to watch. Of course he has the basketball insights and the social intelligence to conduct solid interviews, but it's really his comfort with getting in and out of segments and directing conversation that makes episodes like this one stand out, even among NBA player podcasts. He's really in command of the form of this podcast, and it made listening to this episode particularly enjoyable. He's really hosting.

We absolutely have to appreciate these folks for how they view and articulate basketball. While still being informative and funny. Greatest trio. Legs & RJ +++ Major networks should be ashamed of themselves for not floating these type of convos to the masses over the course of the past few decades. Now they’re dying off and these KZbin channels and podcast are the most entertaining because we want to hear about BASKETBALL, not daily gossip about basketball players. Love it. 💯✊🏿💪🏿

If Jokic manages to win another 3 championships, he's definitely making top 10. We have never seen a player like him, ever. He's 28, has a good team, so who knows?
@zeus4885
@zeus4885 Жыл бұрын
I also feel like his game will age gracefully. He doesn’t rely on athleticism the way other superstars do which will make his dominance more sustainable as he ages deep into his 30’s. If he continues to play anywhere near the level he’s at now for another decade, top 10 won’t even be debate, and he’ll probably be in discussions about top 5. It also helps that he’s one of the most durable players in the league who never gets hurt or tired. I’m a Suns fan and last Christmas when Ayton was mic’d up there was a clip of him breathing heavy during a timeout in disbelief of Jokic stamina, he said "How, big Jokic look? He can run bro" which surprises me based on Jokic physique he doesn’t strike me as one who can outrun athletic specimens like Ayton. But joker is truly one of a kind

@@zeus4885 Yeah, I feel you. I'm a Lakers fan and he absolutely destroyed us last year on the playoffs. 🤣🤣 It will all come down to how many championships and playoff runs he makes. He's that kind of a player that marks a generation just like Kobe, Jordan, Lebron and Curry did.

I think the argument for chet vs. wemby is super interesting. With chet he's slotting into a team that is already awesome and fits like a glove. Wemby has to learn on the fly and be basically the only guy worth anything on that Spurs team. The coverage Wemby is facing is just so tough. Things are so tight and he has to learn on the fly. I don't think you can go wrong with either winning ROTY.
