I run a Sig SRD762 direct thread, and my neighbor has a JK Armament direct. We have identical 20" Grendel uppers and shot the same reloads side by side. Neither of us nor his daughter could tell a difference between the sound of both without ear pro. I have now started the form 1 efile process for my own and will probably never own another form 4 can.

Today I shot for the first time my all steel with titanium fork end cap JK Armament suppressor. I bored out for 9mm unclipped although I primarily plan to shoot .300BLK. It's the rifle MST. I'm very pleased and might continue experiment with additional baffle purchase. So I can have clipped an unclipped. Might fill out for another stamp and bore out just for 7.62. So many decisions AHHH

@DanielBoone337 3 жыл бұрын
@@staysharp_chaos Very much so they've upped their game big time since I bought mine a few years ago with several more caliber choices, jigs for drilling the baffles, and muzzle devices... They're heavier then the JK Armament and materials alone make them more durable but if weight is a concern then JK Armament is probably the best choice. (Quiet Bore 30 cal cans are around 22oz if I remember right) I haven't looked into form 1 suppressors in a while but Quiet Bore and JK Armament in my opinion are probably still the best and reasonably priced... Hope that helps!!!

@CalebDowning
@CalebDowning 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Kolbie, I didn’t use much science to cut the clips to be honest. I cut them about 1/4” deep with a hacksaw and then used a round file to widen them out. I did a double clip because I heard that they are less picky about being aligned with the other baffles( not sure if that’s actually true or not 🤷‍♂️). I’ve played around with leaving the first baffle unclipped vs clipped and I didn’t notice much difference. I hope that helps.

Could not not assume everyone in the world knows what a DHC is. Spell it out for the people that are not in this tiny niche bubble.

Basically it’s a Double Clip vs a single Single Clip. So two clips per cup like I did.

@@Physics072My comment was directed to the OP… but yes, DHC stands for Double Hybrid Clip (2 opposing cuts of the baffle at the cone). It’s used in contrast to a Single clip. DHC is typically not recommend outside of certain niche cup types and applications. It was original touted to be best for minimizing POI shift. But that comes at a loss of suppression. Single clip POI is nominal IMO and the suppression is superior. It’s recommended to Single clip all your baffles and align the clips in a row, in the tube for best performance.

For all the trouble you went to (and all the ammo you shot) it would have been much better if you could provide more than just vague comments ("it's a little spicy"). Use a noise meter app on your phone to measure the sound. That would be much more informative. Also, you never told us precisely what your Form 1 suppressor is, and how the number of modules changes the size. Bottom line: you could teach everybody a great deal more if you planned out what you were gonna do, provided info about the facts of suppressor size as you made changes, and used a measurement tool to provide some actual info rather than just subjective impressions. Please understand that I don't wanna rag on you. You've done more to share info than I have. I just think it could be so much better if you'd think it all through first and made some decibel measurements. Thanks, and good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I hear ya. I’be tried the phone app meters but they are so obviously off that I just feel it’s a waste of time. I would love to get a really meter but those things cost a fortune 🤯 I didn’t give every length on every host but I did go from all the baffles down to one to show what it would do. This channel never really was supposed to be a super technical channel with a lot of specs and data. I’m simply another guy who has a hobby and wants to share that hobby with like minded folks. As such, I try and shoot my videos like I’ve got y’all with me and am just sharing my thoughts. When y’all have questions about specific things I always love to give my best answer or help find the answer just like I would if you were there with me. Don’t take this the wrong way. I really do appreciate your feedback 👍

@@CalebDowning did you use rocksett or anything at the connection of the mount to the first tube? Any issues when taking the mount off the rifle of the tube just unscrewing from the mount instead of the mount releasing from the rifle?
@CalebDowning
@CalebDowning 2 жыл бұрын
I adjust my setup too much to rocksett or loctite anything. I have had some times when the mount and the “blast chamber” start to separate but if that happens I just grab the mount and give it a twist. So far it hasn’t been an issue 🤷‍♂️
