On the nukatia drill, I see a lot of shoulders forward pull them back. Keep them straight. They should be together. Use your hips not your shoulders. Awesome job. You’re doing great just my observation.

I’ve done karate for many years. I still don’t get this part when they stretch there’s dynamic stretching and static stretching when you first start warming up you have to do dynamic stretching you cannot hold or you will rip your muscles. This is about the only real issue I have with JKA karate, we are new times we are educated and we must evolve

great training here . the UK is lacking many yrs of catch up to do , most senseis with a 7th dan can't teach simple techniques .but adamant, especially the wado ryu style . very few sensei are proficient on teaching others . because ,teaching is a skill .karate is art .2 different things . the midland Dojos are the worst .have no dojo etiquette nor what karate is . don't send your children to any of the midland DOJOS THAT ARE INTERESTED IN MONEY GRABBING .love to all .

@nonenone1106 Because students nowadays appear to have short attention span, get bored to easily. And can't stand the hard training of performing basic techniques for a whole lesson, maybe one or 2 basic techniques for a whole class. There appears to be a distinct lack of respect and discipline in our society now in general

With all due respect, i personally believe some of the moves here are moe applicable as basics and to katas only. Do you really think some of the techniques here are practical in free style, full contact kumite? Eg the last part chopping with back stance and spear hand. The spearhand, no matter how powerful, is much more likely to be hurt in the finger tips than a gripped punch.

Hi. Tartaglia Sensei shows how to aply the nukite. About the ‘kata moves’, every defense or atack needs to adapt to specific situation. The kihon refers to ideally moves for training, concentration. There is a 'idea world' (kata and kihon moves) and 'phisical world' (kumite) like in Plato's philosophy. Oss!

@batmankky This is the teaching and practice of kihon, fundamentals, basics. These are the building blocks, the foundation of the art. Without a good foundation the house will fall down, good, correct technique is essential before practising kumite etc. And that wasn't chopping it was a knife hand block, using outer edge of the hand

Glad to see that you have respect to others and you do your question in a decent way... These are basic movements (Kihon). They are the foundation of Karate. In your journey, practicing Kihon, you will learn the art. Then you adapt what learned to your personal fighting skills.
