This is what he wrote on Spotify for a bit of context for this song: "This was the first song we recorded for the album and the lyrics were based on a true story about me and someone I considered family. The lyrics are about a situation I've been going through the past 2 years. We hinted at "Numb" by Linkin Park on the intro and outro as a tribute to our friend and to open/shut the memories of that dark summer" He's talking about someone he was in business with and he completely screwed MGK over.

But the artist all they see is work. He went pretty hard into drugs where I think the managers want them. They want them " numb" to their ish.
