I bought the cheapest grab bars I could find on Amazon for my jeep, they worked fine and still are good versus other brands available. They are definitely knock offs and aesthetically not that pretty but they do the job. My biggest concern with "nice" lights for my jeep is that anyone with a wrench can take them off within minutes. So I feel like I would use cheap LEDs for this reason.

@robertprice90524 жыл бұрын
I typically buy the cheaper lights because it hurts less when a limb smashes them. I have yet to hind a quality to dollar ratio difference in expensive lights and cheaper ones. I installed rear facing lights mounted on my light bar mount. They are $20 2inch Amazon lights and the work great. I don't need them often, so it would have been fooling to buy a set of $150 lights. You should buy them, strip them down, apply heat transfer paste to the leds to allow them to cool, maybe strip the paint, sand them and then you will end up with a good set of lights, the enclosures are worth the price, you could install better quality LED chips for a few pounds or dollars. In all, they are a good base to make some very custom quality lights.

Thanks for the review on what I would call a normal product for an average guy. My wife wouldn't bat an eye if I spent $10 on Amazon. But might go ballistic if I went to Extreme Terrain or another site and bought those awesome Rigid lights for $140. After watching your video and then installing my own S-pod setup wiring would be a cinch. You said something about if these $10 lights go bad and rewiring and such. But with the S-pod it has made it so easy to wire about anything.

I had similar lights (set of 4 for $22) on my last car for 2 years. Not a problem. Put the other two on my jeep as soon as I got it. Love them, no problems, great light, no fog even with water crossings. 6 months so far. I think with jeep parts there’s a surprising and concerning amount of brand elitism as opposed to actual function. Long story short, build a jeep that works! Then when someone with a $600 light bar needs to be pulled out of mud or off a rock you just conquered, ask them how that bar is working 😂

I've had cheap chinese led lightbars and pods for a few years now. No matter if they come from Amazon or elsewhere, they usually work just fine but for the cost vs. some name brands...its the way to go if you're not concerned with looks and name brand. Does the finish fade eventually, some but not horrible. Again, if looks and brand name isn't a concern to you then I will go with these cheaper options. Just my 2 cents.
