3wheel drive.. the beauty of locking hubs is they act as a fuse saving the locker, ring and pinion.. as a side note, I wish the Wrangler, JT, Power Wagon, &2500 Platforms all came with warn hubs, or at least as a factory option.. And ditch that stupid CAD . That would be an awesome Feature... because if you twisted a knuckle u-joint, just unlock the hubs , and drive home in 2wd high to fix it at home where all the beer is...

My brother drove his Acura Integra into a flooded street and hydrolocked it. Once it was home I did this same procedure of pulling the plugs and turning over the engine. We also vacuumed out what we could using a straw. But put the plugs back in and it fired right up. He drove it for 50000 more miles before selling it, so as long as you don't put a hole in the side of your block it shouldn't hurt longevity.

If you want to play in the water, you NEED a snorkel. He's very lucky. I blew a rod right through the oil pan of my '97 TJ in the Jersey Pine Barrens. I had the engine rebuilt only to have a corner of the the block let loose on the highway a year later. There must have been a hairline crack in the block from that rod collapsing. I had 2 buddies lose the motors on their Power Wagons at Rausch Creek this year. That is no fun. A snorkel is cheep insurance.

I'm looking through videos and haven't seen it mentioned yet, do you regret sticking with the rubicon tcase with the 392/8HP70 swap? I know in the initial install videos you mentioned the rubicon might have been too low, would you recommend getting a sport tcase instead?
@JKGearandGadgets2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t say I regret it, the strength is nice to have. But it’s geared super low. Technical crawling it’s awesome, but too low for average offroad speed so I usually wheel in 4 high now haha. Either way, my 5.38s don’t help. I think 4.88 or 5.13 would be a better fit. Depending on what kind of wheeling you like to do will help you decide on the tcase. If you want a super low low stick with the rubi. If you want low to feel like the stock rubi case, then swap to a sport case.

ok, your jeep can definitely make that first hill. You need to carry more momentum. It sounds counter productive, but you have to carry enough speed that the momentum keeps the front end moving forward instead of lifting. There is a fine point where the suspension absorbs the bump, the vehicle keeps moving and the front end doesn't lift.
@todtalk39123 жыл бұрын
Can you guys or anyone who truly knows jeeps give me a real answer on this. I'm looking at a 2013 JKR. It has the 10A package and it has only 14k miles. Its for sale at 31k which seems high and probably would be less but this market coupled with the fact its apparently a sought after model according to some people (however those people are not going to be there to help me if I run into an issue lol). So my question is, this jeep was 42k msrp when new in 2013. It is still basically brand new, even has the km2's with the white lettering that have about 85 % left maybe more, they dont look any lower than the spare which is still 100 percent. Anyway, it has every option you could have back then, it has black leather seats which still look brand new. (wish they were the red ones but o well). I wanna know, and it runs perfectly sounds quiet af. It really is nice. The only thing it doesn't have is the optioned hard top it came with (but that at least means its set up for one which is good, has a premium soft top which are good) there appears to be zero areas where water has leaked anywhere. There is some minor, surface rust on the top of the frame nothing that really concerns me, i live in pa so one winter can do this let alone an 8 year old jeep. its clean, all the other components have minimal or no rust, even the brake components dont have nothing going on. the backs of the rear shocks have a tiny but of rust, nothing that you can even see from a distance more pitting than rust. so more less the rust is not worrysome at all, just wanna mention that because its from Ct so north east we are in a salt belt line obv, id do things to remove the little surface rust and protect from here on out anyway, even if it didn't have rust just because of where we are. I have a 2012 tacoma that has lived in pa its whole life and it has 150k miles and it has tiny little surface rust but only at some corners and seams not all along the entire top seam of the frame like this jeep but i think it sat outside for a but here and there. I discovered the previous owner had it a $800k 4 car garage and house on a beautiful piece of property i looked up lol. that was till 11k miles, then it went to another address same owner for 4k miles (it seems as that house sold in 2016 and also the records show it was dealer maintained and had oil changes almost every year there was one point where it went 2 years) so it has a bit of strange history of super low miles that are absolutely legit, if you look under the hood and inside of the jeep its brand new looking, the wheels have zero pitting or rust. I really like the 10a anvil color they opted for. its a really a nice jeep. No scuff marks really. So it went offroad but it is completely stock and they didn't do anything to crazy due to the bottom being so clean and scratch free. My main concern is clearly this is year 2 of the 3.6l (which I personally like) i know it def had issues in 2012 and some in 2013 esp jeeps made in late 12 but sold as 13's but this one was built in 4 of 13 so i'm hoping it avoided this. I will get it with a warranty a good one at that and it will last 3 years up to 60k miles so that is piece of mind. I just wanna know, what should I check should i do a head gasket and pressure test to see if there is any indication of that being a problem and is there anyway to check the heads? i know the ones affected had a noticable tick but this thing starts right up and sounds perfect. So it runs great, its mpg is around 17 to 18 unless ofcourse you hammer it. I took it for a 30 mile test drive and hit all the gears on diff grades and what not and it was perfect and i cleared the mpg thing and it got 17 mpg so i think thats about normal, but maybe thats not? idk much about these but anyone who can say, no go get a new jl sport and call it a day which I can do for the same price really. Or say that this jeep is a good deal. It being 8 years old with such low miles is there anything that should be changed or done to it before I get it if I do? like i said any help would be appreciated.
