JKM, U are the best instructor online, in my opinion whereas I stand with my swing. Everytime you take your time to explain the variables and the mechanics, I really appriciate it.

I have struggled for years with the second problem you highlighted - less than desirable shoulder turn . The club in the belly button drill and learning how to move into full chest extension basically resolved my chicken wing issue. It comes back from time to time, but now i immediately recognize it and I know the cure. Thank you. Great video.

the handle to belly button is GOLD. its not just the chicken wing; it brought me to realize how much more i have to turn and learn the body movement required to stay in balance. this is buy 1 get 3 for me . big Thank YOU 👍.

Great tip (“grip stay ahead of clubhead”). I went to a golf show many years ago and Tour pro, Mark McCumber did a demo and said, “Don’t let the caboose overtake the engine” (grip being the engine of the swing and clubhead being the caboose)

This guys ball striking is so much different than the other hundreds of KZbin golf instructors. His half swing at at 5:55 and his other video where he hits the driver and iron is Tour like. I then googled him and saw that he had stats on the PGA Tour's official website. Now it makes sense.

This was very helpful. I tend to have a “chicken wing” using my driver. Your explanation on what causes it and how to fix it is encouraging. May go to the range today. Thanks again!

The value of your instructional content is priceless. That took quite a bit of study and observation. Son of a gun you''ve given me the confidence to tackle this "love hate relationship" I have with this game. Thanks for putting this up I'm gonna get there with your help.

My chicken wing comes from a dip on the back swing. I’ve worked so hard to remove this dip but to no success. Feels a little to ingrained into my swing. Been looking at the follow through motion online with the hope that can help. I will take your drill to the range. Wish me luck

Great drills! I am personally trying to un-learn the chicken wing swing now. Imo the root cause leading to this is lack of upper body movement. At least for me it is.

You posted this video on my 50th -- wish I had seen it then. I have some loss of mobility that is exacerbating problems with low point control, or early release, and lack of extension (I see both problems in videos of my swing, but I do a good job of hiding my chicken wing by rolling my right arm over my left hard during impact and keeping the left elbow close to my body!) I feel like most of my poor ball striking is due to compensations for not having a good extension, and stiffness in my hips makes each swing worse. With a driver on a monitor, without warming up, I have often hit the first ball with more than 260 yards of carry and 30+ yards or roll out. After just a few swings, while certain parts of my swing get warm and my timing gets better, I struggle to carry the ball 240 yards with excess backspin, and nothing gets me back to a free swing with effortless clubhead speed. This is the case on the course, too. I'm a first tee phenom, as long as I don't hit any balls on the range. I'm an 8.8 with my goofy short follow through and fake finish that think I can attribute to this lack of extension. I thank your video and the belly up drill demonstration for making that concept clear. I have always wondered how Hogan could keep his arms and clubhead extended so far from his body so long in his follow through, and I've really struggled to find a way to keep swinging through to the end. I don't need to hit the ball a mile, but I would like to learn a few exercises that could help me finish the swing so I can rely on better contact and more consistent distance throughout a round. I mentioned the driver because it exaggerates this problem, but as you might imagine, it's worse with short irons, where deep divots, offline shots, and distance fluctuations of close to 15 yards have a big impact on score and enjoyment.

I have been trying that belly drill on practicing my follow through. I don't have the chicken wing, but I sometimes lose my balance not being able to keep my back foot fixed on the toe. I find that flaring out my back foot more helps with this. I also flare front foot but seem to use a closed stance more, according to my partner. Is a closed stance OK or does it present problems. Love your videos BTW!

SnT swingers do not raise the arms in the backwswing, neither do they in follow thru? Thank you!
@JKMGolf4 жыл бұрын
Stack and tilt golfers definitely get their arms up. Most people raise their arms separate from their body whereas if you were to tilt, turn and extend correctly your arms would raise more naturally
@jakov3025 Жыл бұрын
How do you implement this? DO you the exercise like 30 times a day?

Yes I am teaching online lessons and also with GOLFTEC in Singapore currently. I have learned about stack and tilt and use the concepts to help players. I think it can really help a lot of people if done correctly but I do know other concepts as well.
