Can’t wait until the new Marriott is done. Hopefully more big hotels will come along, especially around the riverfront. Another Hilton, Hyatt, Hampton Inn, more Marriotts, Four Seasons, maybe a Virgin Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel and etc!

Who let the dogs out! 😂 Thanks for the great video as always. Can’t wait to see the new hotel when it’s completed!

I would imagine a lot of concrete work is going on below for the basement and underground garages. It's getting muddy around there, but it's still really interesting to see the progress. Good video!

Potentially unpopular opinion: On one level, building the Ren Cen was a mistake; on another level, the Ren Cen is an iconic and historically significant building. I'd love to see it preserved!

I would too and hope they figure it out. It's part of Detroit and you can see these building every direction. I'm sure Dan Gilbert will figure something out. He almost always does.

I agree! The placement of the RenCen probably was a mistake when it was built in the 70's, and I think the People Mover was as well in the 80's, but they are both now Detroit icons, so let's make the best of it and celebrate, preserve and enhance them! On the other hand, it's just my opinion, that I-375 should stay until a better design is introduced! The proposal that I have seen doesn't strike me as an improvement. What's everybody else think?

Dan Gilbert has spoken on the future of the Renaissance. He said after Detroit’s long decade bankruptcy, he said the same similar to the RenCen!

I could see the center tower of the RenCen turned into mixed-use residential/commercial. Take the top 30 stories and make them into luxury hotel space with panoramic views. Takes the bottom 40 stories with their obstructed views and make them into either apartments or offices. The four surrounding towers could be either offices or loft apartments or condos, or kept as office space.

I wonder if they were to remove cobo hall and give the ren cen that purpose instead? Love that the hotel us already starting up too.
