JLab JBuds ANC wireless earbuds: why aren't they Epic?

This deserves way more views - very thorough, well thought out & informative review! Really appreciate how you covered pretty much any questions I could have about these earbuds. I'm pretty happy with what they are for the $48 I paid for these. I'm more of a cyclist than a runner, and honestly podcasts are going to be primarily what I listen to with these so I don't care so much if the sound quality or mic quality isn't the greatest - I was looking for long battery life, noise cancelling and buds that actually fit my ears, which these do with the cloud foam tips.

Great review, I got these for $34 on their new years sale, with a free pair of metal wired buds thrown in(great wired earbuds that don't sound muffled with the simi open design), and at that price they are a banger, but yes the crush fins are a pain in the ass to use, and they gave me a rash in my ear the first day I used them, so I just leave them off, and they don't fall out my ears with the large gel tips. I just hope the charge case holds up longer than 6 months like the Go Air true wireless earbuds I had to send back for RMA recently, and I'm debating on what to get from them with my $30 voucher.

I just got this and for the price point its awesome. I get ear fatigue from my airpods so I thought about trying out this dot style earbuds. ANC works well too.

Hi Ali, larger ears probably the Soundpeats. The MPow might have overall sound quality edge, but it's so close you wouldn't be missing out either way. If the size doesn't concern you, case size is next, since the MPow has a small case and a large case option (m30 plus).

@@michelle4762 there extremely good for the price but you may have to play around with the eartips a little bit. I got mine for $30 last Christmas. I’d recommend. I only have to charge my case once a week.

I haven't tried these ones but I've been impressed with their epic air ANC line in general. When they go on sale for 50 bucks at Best buy I think it might be the best deal in true wireless

I have both the Epic Air ANC and the JBuds ANC and after using both reguarly for the past 2 weeks, I came to the conclusion that the JBuds ANC, in my opinion, sounds better, gets louder than, and actually has better ANC performance due to sealing off more of the ear canal, than the Epic Air ANC. The Epic has customizable settings which I dont need, the default controls and JLab signature EQ is good enough and I dont particular care about ear detect or wireless charging, due to the attached USB cable, so at there current price point of $99 and $69, I think the JBuds are the better buy.

@@SoZenGadgets I am absolutely obsessed with ANC, a feature I don't necessarily need, but its cool for me to toggle back and forth and I love experiencing that feeling of shutting everything out. I would be interested to see a mid tier ANC showdown between these, the Epic Air ANC, and maybe the Apollo Bold and the EarFun air pro. Just an idea, and keep up the good work.

i can rewind and go back a track on my jbuds anc. i think mine are the v2 variants tho so i think it may vary.

With Earfun collaborating with other manufacturers, maybe Jlab and Earfun should get together. The BT range and the battery life on these Jlab Air ANC's is simply ridiculous! Add Earfun's in-ear detection, wireless charging and great mics (found in the original Earfun Air) and we might have a winner here!

I've not heard anyone complain about breaking the cable at least. These are a little frustrating if you want to use the wingtips otherwise they're a good bud

@@SoZenGadgets I got some, good sound latency is no issue at all even without movie mode, I watched TV with them. BT range as you mentioned is very good, ANC is good, the eartips don't go right into my ear, kinda have to force them in, at which point they then start to hurt even then not secure.

I bought some back in 2018 and still using them till this day. The USB hasn't given me any problem, Its really sturdy. The only reason why I'm buying the ANC is because I lost my left ear bud lol but if it wasn't for that I'd still rock these OG buds.

@@SoZenGadgets oh definitely! These sound better than ALL of their either buds. I bought the Go, the Air ANC, and the epic air anc... The jbuds air anc sound WORLDS better than the others. More volume, clearer, WAY more bass. 12mm drivers that's why The Epi Air ANC sound BAD, but they have the best features and are most comfortable so sad

lol, I know, teasers. I like the JLab Signature mode (all their other buds I normally prefer Bass Boost) These should command more than $50 normal price, they have good features, good warranty, but wow, I want that app and those extras that we know they have!

They actually did drop these briefly to $34 shipped with their new years sale, and even threw in a pair of their wired Metal earbuds for free!! Sign up for their emails, and take advantages of the sales, and even the rewards program. I've never paid full price for their products doing it that way, or catching them on clearance at retail(just keep the receipt if you have to do an RMA of which you will pay the shipping cost).

I've never tried showing with these. Their ipx rating isn't strong enough, either. Any touch controls earbuds might be difficult to shower with, especially with long hair that might touch the controls accidentally

Literally the only thing keeping me from buy these is the fact that they don't use type c for charging why on earth will they do something so extremely stupid is beyond me and on top that no wireless charging to at least save it. My only other gripes are no previous track option on touch controls and the fact there is no app support to adjust the ambient mode but if they a good I can bypass the only other 2 buds I've tried with ambient mode are the buds plus which is terrible sounding sounds way to digital and has a serious problem which no youtuber has ever mentioned which I hope you can test and address so that hopefully fix with an update is the fact the ambient mode seems to be the static seems to be kicking on and off after a few mins of turning on ambient mode or it's just increasing and decreasing the volume automatically to adjust for ambient sounds either way it sounds so unnatural in your ear it is unbearable using it the way I do which is single ear while driving so I car use handsfree when I get a call but can still listen to my radio and hear my surroundings like horn honking extra if you can test this and confirm the issue and make a video about this so they can fix this with an update would be excellent and the other is jabra 75t which ambient mode is very natural sounding but not loud enough to match the natural sound coming in the other ear without a earbud in which as I said is the main way I use earbuds while driving if the jlab air anc is as good as the 75ts ambient mode with a little more volume to match the natural sound of the other ear without buds then I would still consider buying these dispite the terrible charging situation
