I'm not a farmer but have grown up watching it get down all around our house. That was pretty slick when you pulled the cart up behind and squeezed it in between the combine and the untouched field. Tight fit. I've never seen that before as the fields around here a half mile in length and don't require it.
@brandonhickman66589 жыл бұрын
Maybe It's common but I have never seen a tractor pull up beside a combine like that when you were opening up that field. Very cool and lots of skill involved in that!!! Love your videos.

Any reason you went through the middle? We have terraces around here so every which way seems to have a point, I'm just curious with your up the middle approach after the opening rows, is it faster for the trucks to reach the roads? (cool vid btw, and jealous of the flat fields =p).
@jdhuitt10 жыл бұрын
There really isn't any reason why we went up the middle, it had to be opened up one way or another and that's how we did it that way. No quicker for the trucks or anything like that. We do like our mostly flat fields here!

This is all dry land corn? no flood? What do you avg for yields? And where is filmed at? I did several yrs of fall corn harvest with an American cutter in NW Kansas, all flood or pivot with yields about 300+. It sure a lot more fun than wht harvest!
@jdhuitt10 жыл бұрын
No floods for us here over the past two years. We don't use any pivots in Central Iowa as there generally isn't a need. Last year we were under 200 b/a but most years we are above that.

@johnertel29577 жыл бұрын
Jordan, looks like a 16 row head. In good yielding crops it likely takes 2 carts and 2 or 3 semis to keep up with it. Cheaper to chase the combine and keep it running than to drive the combine to the truck and unload. JMO
