David Henschel farming badly needs a modern twist? obviously you haven't done any farming in the last ten years... precision farming gps autosteer that drives the tractor itself and can plant the seed with sub-2cm accuracy,modern chemicals to control any weed you want 600 plus horsepower tractors that are nicer to drive than a luxury car, minimum or no till farming practices harvesters such as the new lexion that can harvest nearly 700 tonnes of wheat in 8 hours...weedseeker booms that minimise chemical usage by only switching on when a weed is present , yield mapping data from the harvester from the previous year can be put into the seeder so the seeder can adjust its fertiliser rates for the areas of the field that did not perform so well last year the list goes on and on and on ...

luke scannell Of course the industry has gone modern as your vid attests - but most farmers can't afford the high-tech equipment you have. I don't drive past farms much as I live in the city, however when I do I still see only older farming equipment in the Central Valley of CA. My comment of a modern twist is referring to what most new generations think about farming - that it is a bygone career.
